To the people of Mondstadt, Thoma was one of the children who were the same age as the popular Ragvindr brothers, Diluc and Kaeya. Hence him having the fortune of being their playmate during the summers when the Ragvindrs took residence at the Dawn Winery. Two things were noteworthy about the child according to the gossip of Mondstadters. Firstly, his mixed heritage with a Monstadter mother, Brise, and an Inazuman father, Kenji Hino. The second was his sunny disposition, charming anyone he met with his bright grin and kind words.
When he was 13 years old, a month after his birthday, he was reported missing by his parents. He was supposed to be back home before sunset, after a day out playing with his friends. But he didn’t. Kenij checked on with his friends but they said that Thoma was on his way home after a game of Windtrace. The father had checked everywhere he could think his son could be but to no avail.
An AU where Thoma fell into the Abyss a day later after Ajax's fall.

For a second, the eloquent Thoma had nothing to say to that. The memories of his nightmares sent chills down his spine and tightened his chest. He could not brush the fear off easily as he did with Lumine the last time he met the traveler. Ayaka knew him too well. He stood closer to her and whispered, "I'm here now milady."
