“Is this supposed to be a power play or something?”
Rin turns around. Isagi’s holding the shirt out with a slight look of confusion on his face, squinting for a moment before turning it around for Rin to see.
Right there, blazed across the back of the shirt, says Itoshi Rin. An old practice shirt, he thinks. All he really brought to Blue Lock was jerseys and such. “It’s a fucking shirt, Isagi. Wear it.”
Face tinged with red, Isagi drags off his jersey and replaces it with Rin’s shirt. It’s big, on him, and Isagi twists to see his reflection in the mirror above his dresser, tugging at the sleeves. The bold, black lettering stretches across his shoulder blades. It’s a little odd, seeing his own name on someone else. But it isn’t really just someone else, is it? It’s Isagi. It’s Isagi, wearing his old practice jersey, soft from use— wearing his name.

“You shouldn’t say shit like that,” He says, low.
Isagi’s growing smirk as well as the remnants of blush painted across his face look fucking delectable. “Yeah? Or what?”

"Are you sure you want me to help? I mean," he pauses again, clearly taking his time to think about what he's going to say. "I'm not an alpha."
"I know that," Rin admits, a sigh pushing past his lips. "I don't want an alpha."
"Oh," Isagi says again quietly. "Then what do you want me to do?"
Rin's eye twitches. "Are you fucking stupid? What the hell do you think I want you to do?"

Summary
The relationship between Isagi Yoichi and Itoshi Rin is unique to them. Theirs is a rivalry spurred on by mutual growth, mutual hunger for improvement, and a mutual understanding of the distance that they need to keep between them; after Isagi ties with Rin at the end of the Neo-Egoist League, he finds himself questioning the nature of their relationship.

Summary
What's even more confounding is how well Isagi can read him, like he's an open book, and yet he hasn't turned away from the ugliness that Rin hides under his skin. If anything it seems to have endeared Isagi to him more which, really, says more about him as a person than it does Rin.
Isagi is a problem that Rin can't quite work out.
