“I'm scared too,” Brenda confesses. “I think we all are. This is so new.” She stares right at Teresa while she speaks, her eyes holding the conviction Teresa wishes she could have.
Rachel chimes in. “I'm afraid, all the time. I never know what to do. I used to think that it would go away but now I don't think it will.” Her voice sounds sad but confident, and Teresa doesn't doubt her.
Driving back home Teresa reflects on her relationship and her family life, wondering how she will manage to make them fit together.

Summary
What Brenda had failed to add into the equation is that teaching someone to play a musical instrument requires a fuck ton of physical contact. And not, like, cutesy hand contact. Brenda ends up pressed against Teresa’s back, her hands covering hers as she attempts to teach her basic chords, fleetingly wondering how her impulsivity got her into so much shit. Newt glares at her, topped off by a suggestive eyebrow raise and Brenda wants to die, discreetly flipping him off.
“Okay, so, this one is a little tricky,” Brenda announces, proud that her voice barely wavered as she demonstrates another chord.
Teresa looks at her before nodding, a small smile pulling at her lips, and Brenda really isn't sure if this smile will mean she'll end up pushed against the wall of a bathroom stall, fingers trailing up under her shirt, or in tears in her father's arms. Somehow, she's pulled by the irresistible urge to find out.
What Brenda had thought would be another performance might just turn into something more, the suffocating atmosphere of a concert venue a somewhat decent place to meet new people.

Summary
Wylan had been okay for a while now. He was okay at his job at the coffee shop, he was an okay housemate who remembered to feed the cat and do the dishes, and he was okay occasionally sleeping with Kuwei, even if they drove each other mad. But once the overwhelming fear and anxiety of leaving his father's house had faded, he found that he was just... okay. And he was definitely starting to want more.
Jesper was an expert at wanting more. More fun, more chaos, more, more, more. While his friends would never tell him to settle down (and probably thought that he never would), he knew they worried about him. After all, they'd all ended up in happy, loving relationships. He'd ended up in a stranger's bed every weekend.
A chance encounter at a coffee shop on a rainy day. Some shameless flirting and numbers exchanged. Maybe, just maybe, Wylan would get the more he was looking for, and Jesper would finally get peace.
