Princess Celestia never said she was a great teacher, and with history doomed to repeat itself, Twilight Sparkle isn't doing much better.
Ever since his mother chose Twilight Sparkle to take the throne, Prince Sonder's life has been on a downward spiral. He'd been replaced before he even had the chance to rule, and now the rest of the royal family is making a mockery of his hard work. Determined to take what is rightfully his, the young alicorn must find a way to navigate the new normal of Equestria and discover his purpose.
Meanwhile, a new generation of bearers have claimed the Elements of Harmony. Will they protect Equestria together, or crumble beneath the pressure of the great heroes who came before?
When the light fails, who will stand against the eclipse? What will become of the world we knew when our histories are forgotten?
This is the story of how Equestria fell.
NOTE: This story is a grimdark! The ending will be bittersweet, but it won't be a happy one.
