Summary
The original wizarding world inevitably bends toward authoritarianism in a cycle of violence that results in yet a new wizard supremacist cult rising up and killing Harry and Draco, just as they had found a tentatively fond and affectionate common ground. Because of course they did.
But when Draco's earnest dying wish sends the pair back to the day they first met, the two men realize that this world is not the same one they'd grown up in. They have to live through their past all over again, but now, there's an ominous anomaly that refuses to let them directly change their original story.
So despite the risk of being stuck in the same cycle, Harry and Draco decide to find a better path forward. And against the strange anomaly, they end up allying themselves with a stranger who can give them the power they need to undermine their original story and make a more positive future for not only themselves but the entire wizarding world.
