Summary
Captain of the Nautilus Ship, Jeon Jeongguk meets a siren by the name of Kim Taehyung who lets him go rather than killing him. Jeongguk has no recollection of that day and has reoccurring dreams of an unidentifiable figure. Taehyung is tasked by his father with getting information from the captain through seduction while Jeongguk has a mission to poach sirens due to the imminent threat of war between them and the humans. "These markings," Jungkook's rough hands curled around the younger male's neck, the pads of his fingers rubbing against the now purplish bruises. Taehyung winced at the contact, his skin sensitive from how hard Bogum's teeth braced his skin. "Do they hurt?" The dancer shook his head, knowing how possessive Jungkook gets. He had half a mind to tell Jungkook the obscene things he's experienced from his clients and boss. Still, he knew it would result in an angry Jungkook who wouldn't hesitate to venture out with the rest of his crew to confront those who harmed Taehyung.
"Words, babydoll."
"No, they don't hurt." Taehyung croaked, cowering slightly under the older man's brooding features. Jungkook was relatively gentle and compassionate amidst being the most feared man in South Korea. Still, in times, he can live up to his status.
"They treat you like an object, and I fucking hate it." Jungkook's jaw tightened, the muscles in his arms flexing around Taehyung. The tension didn't go unnoticed by the exotic dancer, and he leaned forward to lightly peck at the ink curled around the male's shoulder blade to calm him down.
"If only they knew who you belonged to. They wouldn't dare lay a finger on you."

Summary
Tired graduate student Sydney Adamu pays for a yearly pass to the museum. It's easier to study there than at the library and the dollar coffee makes the pass pay for itself in a few months. Something draws her to the Classics and Antiquities hall. One statue in particular seems to have a strange hold on her. The Statue of Carmen, Merchant of Arpinum. When she comes in one day to find the statue has moved slightly, it sends her down a research rabbit hole that releases Carmen from a two thousand year old curse and puts them both in danger. The soulmates have to perform a ritual to ensure Carmen stays human and doesn't turn back to marble.
