One by one, the other man, the doctor, and the stormy woman turned to look at her. They wore almost identical expressions of confusion. Rey blinked, speechlessly. The appropriate answer was "a waitress", or "a stranger," or even "a crazy, perpetually single woman who’s been hopelessly, inexplicably in love with your comatose son for weeks."
Behind her, the nurse huffed, cocking her hip. As if it was obvious, she said, “She’s his fiancée.”

Twenty minutes of frustrated scrolling eventually led her to a supernatural dating forum. The website was horribly aged, but still active. Questions were tagged, which meant that it was easy to narrow down her search. Vampire, she clicked, and Sex.

Ben’s visiting this hotel for business. He’s not entirely sure what the stunning woman is talking about, and maybe he should pay closer attention to her words—admittedly, he tries, but they aren’t making much sense—but she keeps smiling and blushing, and it’s distracting. Nearly as distracting as the dress clinging to her hips and her backside.
Or, Rey thinks Ben is an escort. Ben is not an escort.
