When Akito asked what her hobbies were, An said photography and snake watching, like she was playing a game of build-the-human in her head and suddenly realised she needed something that would make her fake girlfriend have a personality.

    And finally, when Akito asked where she studied, An quite literally said Oh she goes to another school somewhere else in the city you wouldn’t know her.

    Akito doesn't actually believe that An's girlfriend from another school is real, mainly because he is somewhat normal and has a functioning sense of reason. He keeps not-believing this until he meets her girlfriend from another school and discovers that she is, in fact, real.
