Summary
Ilsa walks up to Ethan's bed and places a hand on his shoulder—and immediately pulls it back, shocked at the intense, sweaty heat of his body.
“I’m fine,” he groans, curling away from her and pressing his face into the pillow.
“Did you take anything?” she asks, looking around the cabin. She spots an uncapped pill bottle and glass of water on the dinner table. Without waiting for a response, she walks over to it, grabbing the bottle. It rattles in her hand as she holds it up to the low firelight, squinting at the label. Ilsa jolts when she sees what they are. Heat suppressants.
She looks back at Ethan, eyes wide. Ilsa shakes the pill bottle. “Are these not working?”
“Expired,” he grits out. He’s rocking on the bed, hugging himself, his breath coming out in hisses as a wave of spasms washes through him.
She glances at the label again. The best before date is listed as five years ago.

Summary
Maverick still has that scared, hesitant look on his face whenever they talk, like one wrong move and Bradley would explode at him and tell him that actually he’s still going to hell, there’s no salvation for him, and no ball game or backyard barbecue will ever wipe away the black stain on his soul for letting Goose die. It’s fucking annoying.

Summary
“You know -” he’d said, on his side, Luther inspecting the jagged cut over his flank before applying a new dressing. “I meant to ask. What did you tell Julia, in the tent?”
“That I’d look out for you,” Ilsa told him, plainly. “I wanted her to know you’d be okay.”
He’d smiled at her, tentatively, eyes crinkled in their corners, and she had understood exactly why Julia would fall for a man like him - and how terrible and great a thing it was to let him go.
The first time she kissed him, it was in the dark. That same night in the safehouse on the border of Uzbekistan, with her crouching by the couch and Ethan lying on it. His hand cupping the back of her head, her hand resting on his bruised stomach, breathing quietly for one long, stretching moment before leaning into each other.
[Ethan won a poll I made; and gets acquainted with a strap on as a result.]

Summary
Ethan has a good post-mission routine. He takes himself somewhere safe, somewhere he can be alone. Then, he crashes until the pain fades and he has enough energy to move again. It's always worked out pretty well for him. And it's not as if he has any other options.
Julia's starting to think that there might be far more to her slightly strange new boyfriend than she expected, but upon finding out Ethan's plan to deal with his apparent quad-biking injuries, she has absolutely no intention of letting him get through this by himself.

Summary
Owen Davian's translator wakes up wearing a mask of someone elses face, and realizes that not only is she never making it out of this room, she won't even get to die as herself. Now she is sitting across from the man who ended her career, and he is looking at her like she is the most precious thing in the world. She only wishes it were real.
She was his translator, and she failed him.
Landing a job as Davian’s personal translator had seemed like the opportunity of a lifetime. Being privy to all the international conversations of a notorious crime lord wasn’t for the weak, but she could keep her mouth shut, she wasn’t squeamish, and dammit, she looked good while doing it. Quite frankly, she didn’t care what convoluted, murder-y plans she had to hear about as long as she kept getting paid that exorbitant salary. All in all, being a translator was great. This is based on the scene in M:I3 where Julia is at gunpoint, but it turns out to be his translator. And it made me wonder, what was she thinking? I mean, what were her thoughts on being used as cannon fodder just to make sure they had the real Rabbit's Foot? And how did she feel about Ethan's obvious desperation to save his wife, whom she was not?
