Summary
Zosia turns around to face Carol, nodding her head as she replies, “We want to make you happy, Carol.”
Carol clenches her jaw at the words, feeling a sick sense of arousal at Zosia’s willingness to give herself over to her. She’d berated Koumba for the very thing she’s craving right now, but it feels different to her, different with Zosia. She’d accused him of sticking his dick in all of the hive-beings he’d surrounded himself with, yet she’s about to do the same thing.
But, it isn’t the same, is it? She’s developed a connection with Zosia, even if she’s been resisting it. Zosia, back when she was her own person, would have been attracted to her, would have wanted her.
Carol runs a shaky hand through her hair before looking back at Zosia and instructing, “Go to the guest room. The one at the end of the hall. Sit on the bed.”

“Did it sound like we were describing you?” Zosia asks, seeming genuinely curious about Carol’s response.
The question hits Carol harder than she’d been expecting, and her throat goes tight as she looks away and murmurs a lie, “No.”
She shifts on the couch, suddenly hyper aware of how close they’re sitting. She doesn’t remember them moving at all. She’s almost certain they were farther apart a minute ago. But now, Zosia’s knee is lightly pressing against her thigh, warmth passing between their bodies through the contact. Maybe she’d moved after filling her glass, or maybe Zosia had scooted closer when she wasn’t paying attention. She isn’t too sure of anything anymore.

Summary
Breakup sex had never really been Carol’s style. She liked a clean cut, a scalpel’s edge, mostly because she was the one doing the breaking and her exes had never been that interested in trying to fight for her. So maybe her lack of experience in that arena was why she found herself intertwined with Zosia not even an hour after the illusion had been shattered.
Carol is bad at breakups. Time to save the (girl) world about it.
