    Damian studied him thoughtfully for a moment and then said, "You are exceptionally stubborn."

    This prompted a laugh out of Tim. "Pot kettle, little brother."

    Damian crossed his arms and quirked an eyebrow. "According to the parameters you just now set, your statement should have been addressed to Robin just now." After just a moment Damian amended on the olive branch that was addressing his own statement as well, "...Robin."

    Tim's grin got exponentially wider. "Pot kettle, Robin."

    There's a drumming behind her head, pulsating in her ears. Fig opens her mouth – to scream, to sob, to do something – and finds that nothing comes out. Her voice, like the comfortable life she's been living, has been stolen from her. That should make her panic, except all she can focus on is the crumpled form of her paramour, neatly pressed against a wall with a giant, glowing sword sticking out of her chest.

    And yet…

    "Fig," Ayda's voice rings so clearly in her head, and it must be some form of illusion because Ayda is here and she's dead, she has to be dead, nobody could survive a blade to the chest; but it calls to her nonetheless, and Fig swallows, taking small, shaky steps forwards. "I know you must be scared. It's okay."
