Shane still hadn’t spoken. This was not how he expected any of this to happen. He began to think that it would’ve been less painful and confusing and awkward if his parents had walked in on him and Ilya being something. Something more than two guys sitting on a couch playing MLH together. Something more than two men now standing in his living room petrified, orbiting each other and refusing to light a spark. If Ilya had Shane the way he usually did, blushing and writhing under him, he would be less heartbroken at the bewilderment on his parents' faces.

“You can prove it? What, that Rozanov is your Boston girl?” Shane nods, and Hayden looks at him with disbelief. “Go ahead, then. Prove it.” He gestures at Shane, urging him to do so.
“Fine. I will.” Shane pulls his phone out from his pocket with determination and unlocks it. He opens his messages with Lily and presses call in the top corner. The contact page for Lily fills his screen as the call connects. He turns the phone to show Hayden the screen then puts it on speakerphone.
Hayden crosses his arms and watches intently as they wait for the call to connect.
It rings four times before the call connects.
“Ilyaaa.” Shane says into the speaker before Rozanov can greet him. He ignores the way his mouth pulls into a grin when he hears the response.
“Hollander?”

Summary
Jackie and Hayden conspire to set Shane up with one of Jackie's friends by inviting him over for dinner without telling him that said friend will be present.
Shane and Ilya decide it's time they come out to the Pikes as a couple, so Shane invites Ilya over to the Pikes' place for dinner without sending Hayden a forewarning.
Cue: a jealous man, a confused house guest, and one very kid-friendly Russian.

Shane is sitting above the covers on the bed, which they clearly made by pushing the two twin beds together. “This is my roommate, Shane,” says Ilya. Shane looks up from his phone and shakes his head as he blushes, “you’re such an asshole.”
Ilya says, “Harris asked if beds were made of cardboard.” Ilya gets close to the bed frame and knocks, showing how sturdy it is. “Is not cardboard, very strong. Hard to break.”
“Ilya,” Shane says in a tone both reprimanding and chirpy.
Or, Ilya takes Harris’s advice and films videos for TikTok while at the Olympic village.
