Summary
On their first operation together after the events of Requiem, Chris can't stop staring at the way Leon's hips sway when he walks. It leads exactly where you'd expect - two soft old men in an office after hours.

Summary
Robert has always known he was different - that there was something fundamentally wrong with him. He often felt like there was too much of him stuffed into the confines of his meat and bones - like some weird fleshy prison. He would stare at his hand sometimes and see T̶̟̅͑Ḫ̵͖̋̎Ì̸̼N̴̪̈́Ǧ̵͚̕S̶͎͐ moving underneath. He swore he could taste what people around him were feeling more than he could observe with his eyes.
Maybe that's why his father never loved him. Maybe that's why Uncle Elliot went mad. Maybe that's why he became addicted to the taste of a certain pyrokinetic villain. Maybe that's why, after the explosion, he stopped trying to pretend to be human - he's not.
He's Mecha Man Eldritch.

Summary
“Have time to grab some coffee?” Perking up at the familiar voice he turns around to see Chris standing in all black, hand shoved into his coat pocket and another holding a cigarette while he blows smoke out into the cold air. “What're you doing here?” Leon asks, tossing the wet wipe into one of the bio hazard waste bins the cleaners were filling up with random chunks of decaying flesh. “Got a call actually from your side of things. Said they need the BSAA unit captain over here." What does the DSO need with BSAA? Leon asks, following Chris down the street towards his parked car, the ground covered in random debris and chunks of meat. “Hard day?” They share a laugh, a giant explosion making them look back towards the cleaners who are arguing over the large corpse. “Just an average Monday.”

Summary
The fight between Robert and Shroud ends much differently. He had still gotten away in the nick of time and the bomb had still been stuck to his suit. However, the explosion had left Robert with injuries so severe that it was a miracle he'd survived. Regardless of how life-altering his injuries were, SDN was still willing to take a chance on Robert. Managing his disabilities and mentoring the team was the hardest balancing act of his life.
Will Robert fuck up his only chance of becoming Mecha Man again? Or will he manage to contain it all, and find himself growing a little too close to a certain flaming asshole?

Summary
It felt like everyone was so used to Robert getting egregiously maimed that it was a normal Tuesday for them. And maybe it would feel like that if Sonar wasn't the one to catch him. He keeps thinking of Robert's face, streaked in blood that poured from his nose and from the soot of the explosion. Cheek resting in the fur of his chest while they hit terminal velocity, racing towards a mutual death a half-mile in the clouds.
There was still a lingering current of fear that invaded the peripheral of his awareness anytime Robert was in question. Be it in the break room or watching the man walk home alone, it felt like he had to be somewhere near him. Just in case.
And somehow, Robert doesn't notice.
