And as she sang, she felt that cold-smoke-and-lily scent again. Clearer, brighter, almost clinging to her skin. Her fingers trembled for a split second. Why did it feel like her voice was answering a call she didn't remember sending?
"Who is she?" Seungcheol asked Jeonghan without breaking their gaze.
"Jihoon," Jeonghan replied. "Joshua's junior in college."
Seungcheol nodded; he could feel his cold-smoke scent curl warmer, surprised but drawn in; the lilies grew brighter for a heartbeat, as if they recognized something before he did.
Across the room, Jihoon's forest scent stuttered- pine sharpening, night-dew shimmering like startled breath. A recognition of something ancient stretched awake. For the briefest second, both scents blended in the air between them: forest dew met warm smoke, lilies brushed against pine, two halves of a story breathing in the same air again.
The world seemed to exhale.
Seungcheol didn't understand why he felt pulled toward her.
Jihoon didn't understand why her chest tightened.
But their scents did, their scents remembered.

Seungcheol terperanjat ketika mendapati Jihoon berdiri di pintu kamarnya, kepalanya menunduk, tangannya bertaut gelisah, matanya mengintip dari balik bulu mata — seperti anak kecil yang takut salah, memperhatikan Seungcheol yang saat ini terduduk di sofa ruang tamu.
Seungcheol mengusap wajahnya, lalu menepuk sisi kosong di sebelahnya, mengisyaratkan Jihoon duduk di sebelahnya.
“Abang… gue ada salah ya…?” tanya Jihoon, dari suaranya yang lebih stabil, Seungcheol tahu bahwa pacarnya sudah sadar.
“Enggak ada,” jawab Seungcheol singkat.
Jihoon menoleh, “Tapi kenapa Abang gak langsung nyamper ke kamar?”
Seungcheol menatap balik Jihoon, “Tidur lagi aja.”

Ia menautkan jarinya, menarik napas panjang, “Dan alasan kenapa aku bilang ini— ” Seungcheol menjeda, menatap mata Jihoon yang penuh tanda tanya,
karena kalo sama kamu, aku rasa bisa hidup.
“ — kita udah kenal satu sama lain, dan aku percaya kamu pasti bisa jaga komitmen.”
Seungcheol sengaja tidak menyebutkan alasan sebenarnya, entah kenapa ia merasa belum berani. Ada hal-hal yang rasanya lebih aman kalau disimpan dulu, sampai waktu bisa jadi tempat yang tepat untuk mengaku.
Bukan di antara tawa kecil di meja makan, bukan ketika rasa nyaman masih samar-samar menyamar jadi kebiasaan.
Jihoon tersenyum, lampu meja makan menyorot bola matanya yang hangat memandang Seungcheol.
Meneduhkan.
“Oke.” jawabnya pelan, tapi cukup membuat dada Seungcheol terasa lebih ringan.
Di antara keheningan malam yang diisi dengan detik jarum jam dan sisa tawa yang belum benar-benar reda, ada sesuatu yang tumbuh di antara mereka.
Perlahan, tenang, tanpa nama.
