Summary
She’s no longer infatuated with him – or at least she believes this to be true. However, she still has the right to admit Link is the most handsome man she has ever seen, thank you very much. She is capable of acknowledging this the few times she somehow forces a smile out of him and the even rarest occasions when his gaze darkens and she just knows she’s about to gain some insight into his thoughts.
But she shouldn’t be thinking about that. Not when he breathes and it sounds like it’s hurting him.

“Glass…? Where—?” He racked his brain, slowly glancing up at Will. He didn’t remember breaking any glass on the quest.
“Strangest thing,” Will said, pulling an orange container out of the box. On its side, it read Arm and Hammer, Baking Soda in thick white lettering. “Both Annabeth and Percy swung by a few minutes ago, talking about the exact same thing—glass in their hands! The both of ‘em! Isn’t that interesting?”

Summary
Apollo, god of music, was how he had introduced himself.
Naomi had assumed he was joking, and he didn't correct her. She had dated musicians and poets before. They all had an ego, and those same words would not have felt out of place from either of her exes. She merely downgraded Apollo from potential boyfriend to potential fling, and didn't think twice about it.
Now though…. Now her son could heal wounds with a single touch, and her world was tipping on its axis.

Will smiles encouragingly at him, swiping his tears away and kissing his forehead again. "Let's make a deal, okay?" he murmurs, voice low and full of a bittersweet sort of hope. "If in five years we're both doing better, and we're not dating anyone else-" Mike blanches at the concept of dating anyone else, of Will dating anyone else- "we can try again, okay?"
Five years sounds like a terribly long time. In five years, Mike will be twenty-three. He'll be done with college, will have a career, could be living anywhere in the world for all he knows, and the same goes for Will.
But five years is a whole lot less than forever, so Mike will take it.
In the summer of 1989, Mike and Will fall apart. Five years later, they fall back together.

It's a little bit of a startling notion, once it lands in Mike's head, because Will had said that thing, when they broke up, about not being in a place to meet each other halfway, or whatever, and he was probably right then but it's not true now. Mike would meet Will halfway in his sleep - literally - would even forgo his dignity and meet him further than that if Will wanted, would pull out all the stops and run with whatever leeway Will grants him, and he's always been willing to go to the ends of the earth for Will but there's something much more intimate about being willing to be normal, with him. It's easy to talk big about your love for someone when the world is ending around you, but regular life has always been much harder for Mike, somehow.
