Summary
“I toldja before,” said Atsumu, his voice dipping softer, “you don’t have to say anything.” He took a small step forward, then one more, closing the distance between them. He reached out, waited for a recoil that didn’t come, and carefully claimed a handful of Sakusa’s jacket. “But you do have to ask me out, if you wanna date me. I know I asked you before, but that was a month ago. Doesn’t count anymore.”
Sakusa’s nose scrunched. “You just want to make me say it.”
Atsumu smiled. “Kinda, yeah.”

Summary
“You don’t have condoms,” repeated Sakusa, his voice as flat as his stare.
“I… didn’t think about it?” It was more of a question than a statement, and an absolute lie. Of course Atsumu had thought about it: repeatedly, in great detail, and sometimes with his hand down his pants. He was embarrassed to think about how many times he’d considered going down to the corner store to buy a box, just in case this exact situation happened. But he hadn’t dared to think Sakusa would actually want to sleep with him again – not tonight, maybe not ever – and he hadn’t wanted to get his hopes up only to be disappointed.
And he’d thought that if he bought them, Sakusa would somehow know, in that freakily intelligent way of his.

Summary
Sakusa’s fingers curled at Atsumu’s jaw, hovering, before falling away. “We can’t be friends with benefits, considering we’re not friends.”
Atsumu smiled, because Sakusa’s voice wasn’t completely flat. There was a familiar twist to it, sharp but not wounding. “Wanna be friends, then?”
“No.”
Atsumu glanced down at Sakusa’s hand. “Wanna be somethin’ else instead?”
Sakusa didn’t say yes, but he didn’t say no, either. He glanced away and then back. “I don’t know.”

Summary
A cheer rose up in the background. One of the teams must have scored. Atsumu didn’t know, because he wasn’t watching the screen. “If you ever decide kissin’ me might not be the worst thing you’ve ever done, let me know.”
Sakusa glanced to the side but immediately away again, when he found Atsumu already looking at him.
“I mean, you did fuck me,” said Atsumu conversationally. “Compared to that, kissin’ should be-”
“Every single day,” said Sakusa, cutting him off, “you make me regret that a little bit more.”
Atsumu continued watching him. “You mean that?”
Sakusa didn’t answer.
Atsumu thought that meant No.

Summary
After about a month of his time in Irvine, the first package arrives. It’s standing there, on the table, big and heavy and exuding a familiarity that nearly brings tears to Hajime’s eyes.
“That’s really sweet,” Kevin says, eyeing Hajime’s valiant attempts to cut into the cardboard with a knife, “from your family?”
“My boyfriend,” Hajime clarifies, eyes not even straying to the return address. “That idiot’s the only one who would send me something after one month of being apart.”
Tooru and Hajime go long-distance, and Hajime contemplates whether he's accidentally become a sugar baby.
