Summary
Shadowheart is on the road, drifting between shrines and temples to the Moonmaiden, when she has a dream; time spent with her mother and father as a young child, before things inevitably went wrong.
When she reunites with Astarion by chance, left to scrounge and steal to survive, she wonders if maybe, just maybe, there’s a chance she can return to that time—even if for but a moment.
Essentially, Astarion and Shadowheart have a depression road trip across the Sword Coast.

Summary
"What," Lae'zel says, "is that."
Her voice sounds severe—but then again, her voice always sounds severe, and at least there's no accompanying sound of a greatsword being drawn. Shadowheart lets her hand drop from the handle of her glaive and turns around.
"What's what?" She glances up and down the street, but there's nothing out of the ordinary to be seen: just another street in the Lower City, thrumming quietly with everyday activity. There's a pair of kids whacking each other with sticks—a steel-gray dragonborn hawking potions and dyes—a noblewoman with a stupid little purse dog, the two of them turning up their noses at a selection of vegetables—a drow wobbling on his feet, supported by friends who seem nearly as unsteady as he is—
"That." Weeks of journeying together mean that Lae'zel doesn't outright point at people anymore, but the tilt of her head is just as obvious. "That—creature."
OR: Team Tadpole plays a game. Lae'zel confronts the complexities of taxonomy.

Summary
Jaheira would be a hypocrite to suggest that Shadowheart might have better things to do with her time than to try and save the world.
Jaheira puts a hand on Shadowheart’s shoulder. “What, do you want me to knock him around the ears until sense finds its way in? I do not think the tadpole left a big enough hole in either of your skulls for that to work.”
“She’s trying to be a bloody hero again,” Astarion spits.
“I know,” Jaheira says, steady and—just tired.
Jaheira receives and sends a lot of messages, even during the holidays. Though, for a few hours, her mind is weirdly quiet.

Summary
Gale has chosen his life well: He is free of the Orb, he loves his job as a professor at Blackstaff, and he has lifelong friends he can count on. Mystra has forgiven him in Her own distant, tenuous way, giving him the opportunity to forge a future of his own making.
Yet visions and headaches begin to stir at the corners of his mind, hungry and painful. And they whisper, of powers he cannot comprehend.

A very entertaining post-canon adventure story with Gale

Summary
Gale sat before the campfire, shuffling his cards. It had been a tumultuous day, between falling out of a nautiloid, being rescued from a malfunctioning portal, and raiding a long-forgotten tomb, there had been more action than Gale had seen in well over a year. The steady pass of the paper between his hands was rhythmic and soothing.

Summary
"Come with me," she says abruptly.
Karlach blinks, her confusion briefly clearing the tears away. "Lae... I can't," she says haltingly. "We just--"
"No, I-- No," Lae'zel says. Her bearing is suddenly stiff, with her gaze flicked over Karlach's left shoulder in the military air that she retreats into when speaking of something difficult. "Not forever. I know we cannot have forever. But Wyll must search the city. It will be hours. You know this. Come with me. Let me--" And now her voice really does crack, just the once, before her iron control reasserts itself. "Let me show you my home, Karlach."

Summary
Astarion wants the sun. He wants to bask in the light of dawn, unafraid and unharmed; let it kiss him and not burn; let its light be his private joy, not his fear. How exhausting it is, to be afraid of something he loves so desperately.
It turns out the feeling is mutual.
Astarion's quest to see the sun again triggers multiple religious (and romantic) crises.
~
Note on romantic content (setting expectations): Bloodweave takes center-stage in terms of screen time, and the Astarion/Lathander relationship tag is the stage the boys are struggling to survive on. Shadowheart often mediates everyone's experience with love and the gods, for better or worse.

Summary
Astarion's mood wasn't improved by the household fixings and trimmings that Gale unabashedly loved. He squinted at the bright lights and candles, wrinkled his nose in disgust at the clashing colours and mismatched patterns surrounding them, and flinched whenever he was adjusted or a fellow decoration got too close for comfort.

As paired Christmas ornaments, Gale and Astarion's time is spent either in storage or watching over their household in the festive season, together.Bookmarked by vertigo_cycle

Summary
Alone, Shadowheart could finally unpack: essentials in her closet, everything else into the storage boxes under her raised bed. She set out crystals, throw pillows, hints of Shar that were subtle enough the Selûne-driven majority wouldn’t notice. Her shower caddy and towel set in her arms, Shadowheart pushed open the bathroom door adjacent to her room and found herself face to face with a githyanki.
A powerful artifact is hidden in the depths of Baldur's Gate University. To claim it for her Dark Lady, Shadowheart attends college, spending her days in classes and her nights combing the buildings for any trace of the artifact, the fellow Sharrans she can no longer remember, and the classmates trying to find her target before she does. There is nothing—absolutely nothing—that can distract her from her goal.
