“What’s your name?”
The kid frowns at him. Finally, slowly, he says, “Mumbo?”
That’s- that sounds- it can’t be- “Not Jumbolio?” Grian asks, straightening.
“No,” Mumbo says, and Grian sinks back, groaning.
“Aw, great,” he whines. “I’m just looking for someone who knows redstone, and I think I’ve got the kid, but instead it’s just you.”

Grian isn’t panicking.
There’s nothing to panic about, okay? He’s fine. He’s absolutely, totally, fine.
Sure, he- he might not know where he is, and he might not have his communicator, and he might be pretty certain that Pearl and Joel and Jimmy are going to think that he just left, that he chickened out, but-
He’s-
Fine.

Grian’s heart feels full, the two of them beside him, and he isn’t sure what to call it yet-

“I need your help,” He says, at least his voice betraying his anxiety. A small shake as he speaks, hushed and almost a whisper.
“I– I know, Mumbo. I’m he– here.” Grian voices back with a similar shake, but finally regaining his breath. “You never said what for–”
Grian didn't get a moment more before he felt the grip around his upper ribs tighten, and then hes forcefully moved. Damn the vampire strength.

Grian, the new village mage, made friends with the odd fellow upon the hill. The guy has got a weird fascination with this painting, but other than that hes a real nice guy. What happens when Mumbo asks Grian about how much he knows on Curses and Binding? Hmm...
