After her deposition, Mel calls her sister, tries to listen to her playlist with calming noises, and knows it's not enough. She also knows there's at least one person who won't mind her popping in to bother them. Hopefully.

Alexia keeps looking between her and the tv, and she reminds Aitana of a cat trying to act nonchalant, trying to both bring attention to itself and divert it at the same time. Aitana has always liked cats, loved their aloof natures and their mischief, the way they always smell good and how soft they are. Alexia is also aloof and mischievous, always smells good, and she’s very soft to lie on. That’s something to think about.

It’s David who catches his attention the most. Only three years older than him and already far more established. His laugh, his eyes, his smile, the way he claps Joshua on the back, and the veins on his biceps whenever he raises his arms. It's not only on Joshua though; David certainly treats him in a way that allows him to keep deluding himself.
