Summary
The last thing Jisung said aloud was Minho's name.
Whispered, raw, and frayed at the edges like torn cloth—Minho—and then silence descended like snow, muffling everything that came after.
That was months ago.
And the birds haven't sung since.

Summary
It's here for Jisung.
He becomes convinced of this in the small hours of the morning, when he lies awake and feels it watching from its corner, feels the weight of its attention like fingers pressed against his forehead. It knows him. Knows the specific frequency of his pain, the particular flavour of his grief. Tracks him the way a compass tracks north, drawn by something fundamental and inescapable.
Jisung doesn't know if it wants to comfort him or consume him.
And maybe it doesn't know either.

Summary
“You have no idea who I am!” Ace yelled, shrugging the hand off roughly. It shouldn’t have worked, Roger was clearly just humouring him, but all that mattered was to have it off- “Neither of you knows me! You weren’t there!”
His parents’ faces grew blurry.
“You weren’t there,” he repeated, hanging his head low and wrapping his arms around himself in a pale imitation of his brother’s hugs. “You left me all alone.”
Maybe Luffy had a point, back when he told them loneliness was the worst kind of pain.
Rouge was the first one to move, bringing Ace back into her embrace.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I’m so sorry, darling.”
He let himself be held, but didn’t dare relax. Surely that bastard would try to get in on the hug, surely he would interrupt, surely-
Roger was crying.
Or: On your 15th birthday, you are gifted a visit from your parents, as they were on their last birthday before death.
For most people, it's just a chance to remind themself of how adorable their children were, all those years ago. Maybe to meet again a spouse departed too early.
For Ace, it changes everything.

Summary
When Minho spots Jisung’s mating run confirmation e-mail, he frowns. “Ah Jisungie,” he says and shakes his head. “Here, I’ll cancel it for you.”
Jisung struggles against his hold uselessly. “Yah! You don’t dictate what I can or can’t do.”
“You think you can survive a mating run?” Minho wiggles Jisung’s wrists. “Your skin is bruising just from this. Be reasonable for once, listen to hyung.”

Summary
And then comes Jisung.
The final moment, tonight's centerpiece. A calculated reveal.
His first public appearance after presenting, the second son beta no one paid attention to, now revealed to be a diamond in the rough.
Minho doesn't think when he offers Jisung his leather-gloved hand. And Jisung takes it without hesitation, the touch light, for balance and form, but Minho feels the warmth as if it were skin on skin, searing through the leather like flame.
The noise surrounding them rises as soon as Jisung appears, all attention focusing on him.
He's luminous.
Or: Jisung is a late-presenting omega born into a rich family. Minho is the bodyguard assigned to protect him.
