Summary
She never has visitors, she’s chosen a building with a capable looking doorman to make sure of that; she doesn’t think he could stop Mr Drummond but at least he could slow him down. But the mistletoe is beautiful, dark green and creamy white, and she’s doing Christmas for the first time and she wants to get it right so she’d hung it up, and now Mark is standing underneath it. He follows her eyeline and his lips part silently as he sees it too.
A near death experience prompts Helena to rethink her place in her family and the Lumon cult. Almost a year later, at Christmas, she bumps into the man responsible…

Summary
Helena has never not known snow. Kier is covered in the stuff in the winter, the cold and dark stretching for months on end. Being surrounded by all the snow in the forest should fill her with a sense of wonder, but she simply can’t feel it. When she thinks of snow, she thinks of dangerous roads and grey slush and black ice. Cold and death.
Mark doesn’t though. Or at least, not this version of Mark.
