Summary
The sorcerer was out of options. He had a large amount of mana, yes, and it certainly made him a dangerous foe, but only that didn't matter in a fight where you also needed physical stamina and prowess. Also, he needed to keep his mana levels as stable as possible in order to have just enough to get back to his hideout, and he'd already used up a decent amount in the altercation with the knight, despite only intending to rile him up.
He didn't know it would lead to a full on brawl, especially not when he wasn't prepared.
So, the sorcerer, out of desperation and with no other choice, pulls the knight down towards him and presses his face in the crook of his neck—
And bites down.
Tenma Tsukasa, head knight of the White Lily Kingdom, is tasked to find and kill the Black Lily Kingdom's royal sorcerer, a man by the initials K.R. Upon their first meeting, an unexpected occurence happens, and he finds that his life has taken a turn— for better, or for worse.

He knows it's something like the gentle lips pressed against his own, chapped and scarred one, and the hand that intertwines their fingers together that brings them impossibly closer.

I read this in the span of three days. in those three days, ive learned how these two love, build their connection and continue to love despite the ups and downs. throughout the entire fic, every detail is shown, ans even though some people might think it bogs it down— i don't really care. it allowed me to get lost in the emotions; the love, the care, the effort both put into the relationship.
some of my favorite parts in this story is where they both deal with struggles and issues, yet fight to communicate and understand either way. there first couple fight, oscar trusting enough to use safewords to tell carlos how he feels, oscar confronting carlos when he was sacrificing everything to spend time with oscar, the last two chapters.... each and every time, they communicated, they talked, because they both wanted it to work. and that's what's so beautiful about this fic to me. it's so, so real, despite the empathetic bond part of it. it shows the struggles of actual relationships, and the constant learning and communication needed to maintain it. the fact that despite everything, it is a choice to continue loving and working through issues purely because they know that they love each other.
i'm not kidding when i say this really did change my life. it's those kinds of fics that make you reflect— leave you with a gaping hole in your heart and at the same time have it so full of love and lessons learned. by the ending, i'd grown so attached to this world and the characters in it that i was sobbing. carlos and oscar, their love story, the bonds they formed with each other and the people they love— all crafted and told with love here.
it's such an amazing read. it's long, yes, but you can take breaks in between. i'm really not kidding when i say it's an absolute beauty of a fic. please read it if you have the time; whether or not you like carlos, oscar, or carcar.
and to end it, the paragraphs that made me cry harder than i'd like to admit:
"I love you," Carlos whispers, words loaded with the weight of millennia. "In all those lives, in all those ways, in all those universes, but especially here, now, in this reality where we have all the time in the world to show it."
"And I love you," Oscar responds, his voice thick with emotion that has no name. "But now I understand it's not because the
universe is being gentle with us. It's because now we know that love, even ours, isn't celestial inevitability. It's a
