Summary
Felix knows he shouldn’t get involved. Nothing good comes out of meddling in other people’s business.
But as the man raises his fist, Felix’s heart lurches in his throat. He runs out of his hiding place, grabs the boy’s hand and runs.
Several splashes of water echo as shoes aggressively stomp on water puddles. The sound is almost drowned out by the heavy rain.
He doesn’t need to look back. He knows, they are being chased.
Oh no.
Or: when Felix unexpectedly comes to work for a theatre company, he is somehow roped into participating in the play. But several mysteries present themselves before him, and he cannot help but get roped into them, too. Going against the bonds of fate, will he be able to come out unscathed?
A Felix-centric OT8 soulmate AU, but Felix is not one of them.
But is that really it?
In a world where soulmates aren't destined to find each other, one quiet florist hides a secret beneath his calm exterior. As shadows of the past and whispers of fate intertwine, choices blur the lines between love, loyalty, and longing.
What happens when the heart defies destiny, and the bridges behind are already burning?

Summary
Homesickness. Bereavement.
The two other supporting themes of the piece.
Xie Lian wasn’t foreign to any of them. He was well acquainted with them both. They had come knocking on his door, that time when his parents passed away, when he lost everything that he had, when he no longer had the will to go on, when the world turned its face to him, when he was shunned, alone and lost in the pouring rain, and the rain had washed away the red of his lips, brown of his hair and gold of his eyes. All that remained was a dull washed out photograph, a shell of himself, still standing in the rain, before the two gravestones he had come to familiarise himself with, clothes soaked wet.
But then someone held an umbrella over him in the pouring rain, waited for as long can be. He lifted him, the broken shards of him cutting right though. He painted his life with colours he could see once again.
Or: A depressed Xie Lian works away his lonesome days quietly at a museum. One day a youth in red shows up with a sketchbook and Xie Lian's life starts moving once again.

Summary
He finishes swiping the floor and moves behind the counter to put away the left over pastries of the day when he hears the bell from the entrance door jingling.
“Sorry, but we’re already closed.”
He says from where he’s crouched behind the counter looking for a box.
“Oh, I saw the lights on and thought that you were still open. I’m sorry.”
It takes a moment for the voice to get through his tired brain, but when it does, the blonde gets up in a second, dark spots blink on his vision as he gapes at the sight of the man standing in the middle of his cafe. His black clothes are a contrast against the pastel colors of the place, he wears a black mask on his face and a black cap on top of his head, but Felix would recognize that voice and those upturned eyes anywhere.
Hwang Hyunjin. Hwang Hyunjin is standing in his store in all his glory. Felix’s favorite idol, the man he has had a crush on since before his debut is standing there as if it was any other ordinary Tuesday night.

Summary
Like every year, Felix hands his friends a little box of brownies decorated with little pink hearts, that’s the closest he can go to giving sweets to the person he loves.
When he hands Seungmin his box the other boy looks at his empty bag with a frown.
“Aren’t you going to give chocolates to anyone?”
“I’m not.”
Felix busies himself folding the bag on his hands, he can almost hear the smirk on the other’s voice when he asks.
“But if you were, who would you give it to?”
Upturned eyes with a mole under the right one, plump lips, long black hair, pale skin and big hands flash on his mind. There’s a name on the tip of his tongue but he swallows it down, because the knowledge that he would never have that is a secret that he keeps close to his heart and avoids as much as he can.
He shoves the bag into his backpack and heads to his classroom, eyes fixed on the ground as he mumbles.
“No one.”
Or: Felix thinks that Hyunjin's going on a date with someone else on Valentine's Day.
