The break in silence startled Toshinori, having not anticipated it. Aizawa was staring at him expectantly.
His own smile turned bittersweet, answering honestly, “I never entertained the idea. I thought that wasn't an option for me, considering my line of work and the danger it entailed."
Aizawa made a noise of acknowledgment. "And now?"
He blinked. "Now?" He echoed through a laugh. "I think I'm a bit too old for a baby, Aizawa." He took a moment, humming consideringly, "I suspect that ship has long since sailed for me." And if he's a bit forlorn over that revelation then that'd be his own little secret.
After tucking little Eri into bed, Aizawa asks Toshinori a question he isn't prepared for and is hit with more than a few earth shattering revelations along the way.

Summary
Post Kamino Ward, moving into second semester, All Might is hit with a de-aging Quirk and this is not a good situation for Aizawa. At all.
This is actually much more than leading a (technically injured) ally away from the scene of a battle and into safe custody, because Aizawa really, really doesn't need the holy grail of protective masculinity and his violent gay awakening incarnate standing there and making curious, flirtatious eyes at him every time they stop for a cross-walk signal.
All he has to do is not do the thing. He can not do the thing, right? Wrong.

Shouta's having a shitty few weeks, between missing cats and chronic pain and abject embarrassment in front of his students. But playing out a scene with his partner can be the most effective balm for many wounds.
He gets to his knees haltingly, at the side of the chair. Closes his eyes. And relaxes with a tiny moan he can’t reel back in, rising up from his throat when Toshinori’s hand strokes through his hair and comes to rest warm and steady atop his head.
“Hi,” Toshi murmurs. Gentle, rumbling down from his vantage point over Shouta’s head as his hand weighs down on him, keeping him held. “Going to kneel for me, for a little while?”
