The Mikaelsons turning up to town was a problem that the people of Mystic Falls didn't know how to rid themselves of. As resident witch, Bonnie feels pressured by her friends to complete such a monumental task. However, she has bigger problems. Like the younger brother of the Mikaelson clan that she could almost swear she'd seen before.
She just wishes she was wrong about that.

There stood a cottage on a cliff above the sea. It was for all intents and purposes a perfectly ordinary house and yet there were whispers about the home in the village below. Very few had ventured into the little cottage or had even seen the owner of the home - there was some disagreement as to who owned the home, a man or woman all of varying descriptions, having been suggested - but those that had, described a sprawling interior that couldn’t possibly fit within the humble structure.

Eddie's dead. Until he isn't, at least not quite. He finds himself stuck as an apparition that only Steve Harrington of all people can see. And yet despite it all he thinks it only the third weirdest thing to happen to him this week; the first being the discovery of an alternate dimension beneath boring old Hawkins, the second being Chrissy and the fourth being the rag tag group that has accepted him as one of their own and seem determined to help him. Too bad he's already dead.

Summary
With things back to normal in Hawkins - or as normal as they ever get - the party must return to their lives. But Steve finds himself struggling with a different sort of crisis in the aftermath and he's not the only one. Eddie's still trying to wrap his head around monsters and other dimensions existing below Hawkins and having been accused of being a serial killer by the people he grew up with all while trying to pass his third attempt at senior year. At least they have each other to figure things out with.

Bonnie struggles to regain her footing upon coming back from the dead as the anchor. She’d gotten used to the almost peaceful existence of the other side with its lack of end of the world catastrophes and witchy work arounds, where she can simply watch her friends discover happiness. She’d even gotten used to Kol’s persistent and irritating presence. Even with all his qualms about her leaving them both to die by raising the veil, he had become part of her norm in death. It almost seems wrong to be here alive without him, particularly after everything he’d taught her.
Or Bonnie is not okay after coming back from the dead.
