But then, as the Prince approached him with all the wrath and madness of the beast on his banners, he suddenly stopped in his tracks; It took but a second for it to hit Dunk; that scent, the Prince's scent, strong and alluring and captivating and powerful like he had never felt before. Dunk's breath caught in his throat, eyes fluttering shut for a long second as he breathed it in, breathed Aerion Targaryen in; at once, his body failed, knees buckling, the Kingsguards cursing at the sudden unsupported weight.He was an omega.

Summary
Dunk of Flea Bottom, an omega and a lowly squire, had always dreamed of being a great knight of the seven kingdoms. When he misunderstands his Ser’s dying words, it’s exactly what he sets out to do.
However, after growing fond of the child he picks up in an end and makes his squire, his path takes a much darker turn than he anticipated.
Lyonel Baratheon is just too smitten with this large pretty omega to let something like a dragon stand in his way of happiness.
(A retelling of the show that is somewhat darker but with a much happier outcome. Baelor lives. Lyonel gets his cookie. Dunk gets the man and gets to be as maternal to Egg as he likes because I say it so.)

Aerion looked this so called ‘knight’ over, “You don’t look like a knight I’ve ever seen” he sneered. “What are you? Some sort of peasant knight?” he asked looking over Dunk’s less than stellar appearance; taking in the dirt on his clothes and his rope belt. Dunk flushed and looked down “My name is Ser Duncan the Tall, I am but a hedge knight my Prince, I hope to enter this tournament to make a name for myself and in the end pledge my allegiance to a great house who would have me” Aerion laughed cruelly at his response “You do know what this tourney is truly about right hedge knight?”
TLDR: Aerion has been a little shit and in a final act of desperation his parents (Baelor and Maekar) decided that who ever wins the Ashford tourney will also win his hand.

Something tugs in the center of his chest. He should be angry, furious at his brother for trying to do something to screw him over, even after years of not speaking. He’s been doing the same since they were kids, using Ilya as a scapegoat to slip out of his responsibilities and consequences for his own actions. Doing this - getting a woman pregnant that isn’t his wife and claiming it’s Ilya who has done it - is just something else to add to the list.
