Kinn nearly comes out with it, one night after dinner. Porsche has his head thrown back as he laughs, his throat a long, bare line and his teeth flashing white. He’s just made a joke Kinn’s already forgotten, and he keeps stealing glances at Kinn before laughing again, as if to say, Isn’t it funny? Don’t you think so too?
Kinn smiles back at him, helplessly besotted. He almost leans in then, almost nuzzles Porsche’s cheek, rounded with happiness as he grins. Almost whispers in his ear, Let’s get married.
