Summary
Life and death can be described as a wave. When a wave rises, you can measure its height and weight, note the colors of the water, and capture its presence in a photograph. You can say in complete confidence that this is a wave. Yet no matter what you may do to preserve the wave's existence, to prove that it was here on earth, the wave will crash against the shore. It will kiss the sand in both a first hello and final goodbye before retreating to the waters it came from. It will never come back, but it was there.
Kim Hongjoong spent his entire life with the waves. His childhood was spent splashing along the shallow reef that constructed his backyard, and summer days were filled with chasing little sea creatures and hybrids alike. He dreamed of becoming a marine biologist specializing in hybrid care. When the time finally came for his senior year lab with his undergraduate degree, his acceptance into the top hybrid rehab facility in Australia catapulted his career. But what happens if he can't fit in with the facility's permanent residents? What happens if he can't handle the workload? What happens if he isn't cut out for this?

What was he even doing? This was kind of insane, especially for him. He had always been the calm, level-headed one. His friends teased him all the time that he was ‘the mom friend’. Was he seriously about to approach some stranger and ask him to be his pretend boyfriend for a piece of cake? A piece of... free, rich, fluffy, creamy, strawberry heaven?
...yes, he was.
