Summary
Hange Zoe is a renowned author. Summary
Holothurin, a self-defense product of sea cucumbers, can induce a skin rash which is usually minimal due to the dilution of the toxin with surrounding sea water. Manipulating it on shore without gloves can expose skin to the toxin without dilution, therefore causing a much more pronounced reaction.
Of course, Hange had no way of knowing that the first time she ran into those animals.
