It was an appropriately dark and stormy night and the Spirit was going for a walk on the water, near Ember Island, reminiscing rather melodramatically about their past. They tend to like storms on the ocean because it gives them the right atmosphere to be the proper amount of theatrical.
That’s when they saw the girl fall. With a sigh, they grabbed the girl’s arm and rose to the surface, dragging her body behind them. She was clearly already dead, but that didn’t really matter. She wouldn’t be for long. -
