He felt Jean tense against him. "What are you sorry for, Jeremy?"
“If I was a girl, you could be dancing inside, in the ballroom with everyone else,” Jeremy said miserably, hiding his face in Jean's neck like the coward that he was.
"Jeremy." Jean's hand left his waist, and then he felt a finger tuck under his chin, tilting his face back up until their eyes were level.
"If not with you, I would not be dancing in the first place," Jean told him sternly, "I am exactly where I want to be.”
Jean is an amazing dancer, and Jeremy just wishes he could dance with him.

But the buzz and the music and his senses filled so entirely with Jeremy Jeremy Jeremy made that impossible. And besides, Jeremy wasn’t stopping him. “Jean,” He breathed. “You’re killing me.”
The wrecked rasp in his voice made something stir in Jean’s gut. He felt giddy, stupid, intoxicated by the man behind him who would never know that he was quickly becoming Jean’s everything.
He didn’t feel capable of coherence anymore, so he said, perhaps stupidly, “I know, Jeremy. You’re killing me too.”
