As if Loki were not, himself, true and a warrior and of Asgard. (As if he’d ever had any say in that last one.) As if he weren’t fighting harder than any warrior among them, sacrificing all that he had and all that he was—even his own mind—in service to a higher cause.
And tonight it could have all been for nothing, he thought savagely, the rage roiling up within him with nowhere to go. (Not yet, anyway. He’d be able to use it soon enough. It was the only tactic that could win this war.)
