Summary
Ash doesn't smoke a lot, he probably goes through three packets of cigarettes through a whole journey. It's not like it'll actually kill him since he revives so often, and he doesn't do it around people if he can it's more of a way to take himself out of the reality of his life and just exist normally for an hour at most because who wouldn't want that if they went through the same thing he does.
