Summary
Reki Kyan isn’t a genius by any means.
Sure, he’s not dumb. At least he doesn’t think he is. Like, if you were to set a math assignment in front of him, no problem. That’s a breeze. He’ll be done with time to spare and could probably double check his work a solid three times in the time remaining. But if you were to put some English homework in front of him...that’s a different story. He’d sit there and scan the words for a few minutes even though they’re not getting through his skull. Maybe he’d tap his foot and click his pen a little as if it’ll make the time go faster. He’d scribble on the paper a bit, but then end up giving up and trying to do it in the morning by rapidly writing in answers while Langa hovered over his shoulder.
So Reki’s not a genius.
But he’s definitely, like, smart to some degree. Right?
So he’s around 99.91% sure that Langa’s trying to find excuses to touch him.

Reki doesn’t stress about not being able to tell Langa how he feels.
He’s not good with words. He bottles things up until he explodes, and even then he can never find the right words. He just stands and stutters and covers his face because he can’t find the strength to do anything else.
But he’s not mad about that, because he’s happy to be around Langa in whatever form he can. And if that stays as his best friend, he’ll be perfectly content.
Because Langa was the boy shrouded in mystery from a place that experienced something Okinawa never would. The boy with icy eyes and the straight posture and cold expression. The one who everyone assumed was smart and stoic.
But he had chosen Reki, and now Reki knows that whenever Langa gets tired he hunches his back so he can lean his head on his desk. He knows Langa faints at the sight of blood and is terrified of needles. He knows Langa winces at even the tiniest of injuries because he bruises easily. He knows Langa has a dimple when he smiles and he knows he has a silver cap on one of his back teeth because of a cavity he had when he was ten. He knows Langa laughs with his entire body and his shoulders shake and he occasionally slaps his hands on hard surfaces or claps them when he thinks something is really funny. It always fills Reki with a sense of satisfaction when he does that, because then he knows he did something right. He knows the look Langa gets when he really wants to try something and he knows he can eat half of a restaurant's menu in one sitting. He knows Langa has plants and he has a baby picture where he’s wearing a yellow cap and that his dad used to rub his stomach when he was little.
Anyone could’ve learned that about Langa.
But Reki had the honor of being the one who did.

This is soooo cute like all the little things adding up and its so freakin clear to outside that bro you aren't the only one in love Langa is literally saying I love you with his actions 💖 and the whole I already confessed☺️
But my favorite part? Reki talking to Langa's dad, and realizing he's in love and it not being a big thing. So freakin cute💞💗💞💗 -
