Work Text:
Most days Soobin led an ordinary life. He went to classes, studied, hung out with friends, occasionally went on dates - nothing very exciting.
Until he met Yeonjun. Or rather, until Yeonjun revealed himself to Soobin.
He had just been sitting in the park, a quiet spot he liked to go to as a study place or just somewhere to chill alone sometimes.
The way the tress and the shrubs grew he could sit without anyone spotting him unless they came around the corner of the plants.
“Hi!”
The greeting came out of nowhere, Soobin must have been so absorbed in his book that he hadn’t heard footsteps.
He turned and came face to face with the prettiest face he’d ever seen. With blue hair, a bright smile, and freckles smattering his skin - Soobin felt dumbstruck.
“What are you reading?” Yeonjun seemed to ignore that Soobin's mouth had dropped open instead of answering his greeting.
“J-just a book for class,” Soobin snapped it shut, embarrassed he was actually reading a romance novel.
“Oh?” Yeonjun titled his head slightly like he was amused. “I didn’t know they read stuff like that at university.”
Soobin didn’t know what to say and blushed instead, he had to look away because Yeonjun was just too striking.
“Couples in those books always have those meet-cutes don’t they?”
Yeonjun was either ignoring Soobin’s reaction again or was distracted with his own train of thought. But he leaned down to tap a finger against the cover of Soobin’s book in a way that made their fingers brush.
“R-right,” Soobin felt the skin of his arms break out in goosebumps.
The corner of Yeonjun’s mouth tilted upwards and he moved his fingers to brush against Soobin’s cheek next.
“Why are you always so cute?” Yeonjun couldn’t seem to look away from Soobin’s face and it only made him blush more.
It took Soobin a moment to even process the implications of the question, “Pardon?”
Yeonjun didn’t seem phased by his confusion, probably because he was more focused on leaning in to press his mouth against Soobin’s. Catching him off guard and shocked once again.
It didn’t deter the strange boy from letting out a soft moan at the contact of their lips, even though he hadn’t done anything. Soobin wasn’t the most practiced kisser and he was still too surprised to do anything.
“God your lips are just as soft as they look,” Yeonjun had pulled away enough to mumbled against his mouth but leaned in again before Soobin had the chance to reply.
Yeonjun kept talking as though they knew each other but he was sure he would remember the boy if that was true. Even still, Soobin found himself melting into the kiss and pushing his questions aside for a moment.
This stranger wanted to kiss him for whatever reason and it just felt so nice. He closed his eyes and pushed his fingers into the blue hair that was surprisingly soft. Yeonjun licked against his bottom lip and Soobin let him inside.
He leaned his head against the tree more and his face titled upwards while Yeonjun’s fingers glided along his jaw. Soobin didn’t even worry so much about what he was doing because Yeonjun seemed to like anything he did anyway.
His tongue rolled against Yeonjun’s and he tried to tug the other closer. Except that it seemed the space where Yeonjun was supposed to be was suddenly empty. Soobin’s mouth hung open for a few moments, expecting kisses before his eyes could flutter open in confusion.
Where Yeonjun had been there was no one. Had he daydreamed it all?
“Ah fuck,” Yeonjun’s voice was quieter and Soobin frowned.
“Where..?” He spun his head in both directions.
“Down here,” There was a tapping at his leg and Soobin looked down to see a miniature Yeonjun looking up at him from his leg.
Except now he had tiny wings on his back and Soobin felt his eyes go wide.
“I guess I spent too much time thinking about approaching you and not enough time actually talking to you,” Yeonjun rubbed at his face like he was annoyed with himself. “I ran out of magic to be human-sized.”
“Human-sized,” Soobin repeated. “And you’re not...you’re?”
“A fairy of course,” Yeonjun twisted to show off his wings which were admittedly pretty. “My family lives in the park and I have seen you here so many times.”
He ended the statement by fluttering his wings so that he could fly eye level with Soobin. Curious, Soobin lifted his hand and Yeonjun landed on it easily. The fairy leaned in to hug his thumb and let out another sigh.
“Your skin is so soft too,” Yeonjun rubbed his face against the tip of Soobin’s finger and he couldn’t help but smile.
“Should I be worried a fairy is stalking me?”
“Well I don’t actually follow you home or anything,” Yeonjun leaned up straight like he was concerned and Soobin let out a laugh. “Ohh the dimples.”
The fairy couldn’t seem to stop himself from flying over to press a palm against the indent in Soobin's cheek. And he actually turned his head to make it easier for him.
“How long until you can become human-sized again?” Soobin asked him because he was blushing once more as the fairy skimmed his delicate hand over his skin.
“A few days...maybe a week?” Yeonjun twisted his lips unhappily. “It takes a lot of power to get that big.”
“Mmm makes sense?” Soobin said even though he was talking about a creature most thought weren’t real.
“No kissing anyone else until then,” Yeonjun said very seriously and poked at Soobin’s mouth at the same time, it felt like a tickle.
“Okay,” Soobin had no idea what he was doing but he jutted out his bottom lip like a pout, not expecting Yeonjun to actually lean in a press a tiny kiss there.
“I won’t either,” Yeonjun said. “It’s a deal.”
“Isn’t it bad to make deals with fairies?” Soobin tried to remember folklore he had read as a child.
“Not if we like you,” Yeonjun gave him the same smile he had earlier and Soobin couldn’t help but nod in agreement.
He did feel lucky this gorgeous creature was so interested in him. There was even the temptation to bring him home with him. He didn’t want to say goodbye.
But Soobin needed to do some research it seemed.
“I’ll see you soon,” Soobin promised as Yeonjun fluttered away to give him space.
Yeonjun gave him another smile before he flew upwards into the tree. Soobin briefly wondered if any of his fairy friends were watching.
Did any others know about him? Was he allowed to tell anyone about them?
Soobin got up and tried to make sense of it all as he stumbled away from the spot still feeling like he’d been struck silly by Yeonjun’s fairy kisses.
