[Podfic] Cold read of The Lessons We Have Learned

Summary:

"A-Chan!" His mother calls him over excitedly. "You have been invited to the guest lectures at the Cloud Recesses!" And then she gasps as she reads on. "And to the guest lectures at Lotus Pier!" she exclaims. "A-Chan, what an honour!"

"But -" he starts.

"No buts," his mother says, smiling. "This really is an honour, A-Chan. Only the best are invited to both of the guest lectures. You shall have to have new robes..."

Jin Chan is going to die.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: Another sequel to And Time Is But A Paper Moon that needs, just... so many notes.

First: Jin Chan!

He's technically a canon character. He's the kid who fights Jin Ling that time at Jinlintai. I've seen a lot of people take the view that Jin Chan bullies Jin Ling for being an orphan, which... doesn't seem supported by the text? In that section of the book, it's clear that Jin Chan and Jin Ling fight a lot, but the actual thing Jin Chan is yelling at Jin Ling for at that point is his inexplicable defense of Mo Xuanyu, who allegedly harassed Jin Guangyao.

In any case, these kids grew up in a very different Jinlintai. (And Jin Ling isn't an orphan.)

Second: names!

Because this fic contains so very, very many OCs.

Jin Guangyao has two children, and neither of them has a Ru- courtesy name. This is because I have been trying to maintain at least some name consistency with canon, which means that Jin Guangyao stayed Jin Guangyao even though he should have been Jin Ziyao, and Mo Xuanyu simply became Jin Xuanyu when he was adopted... which means that they've just quietly gone with a Thing that that sub-branch of the family doesn't use the same naming convention as the main branch.

So.

Here we go. Characters with their names in (brackets) don't appear in this story, but I wanted to go off a master list to minimise future confusion.
