“Probably,” the flaming figure shrugged. “I mean, it’s the New World, anything can happen right?” His eyes flashed blue, teeth glinted white, embers as freckles dusted his cheeks, “So why not this?”
“Why not this,” Marco repeated reverently, before he reached into the flames and pulled Ace out.
Or Ace still dies at Marineford but some people aren’t meant to stay dead. Given new life as a fire spirit, he might just be the spark the Whitebeard Pirates need to sail into the new age.
