Work Text:
Langa looked at his reflection in the mirror. He was wearing a dark gray suit and a blue tie, his hair was slightly brushed than usual. He closed his eyes taking a deep breath, he had to stay calm, he didn't want to do or say anything that could ruin the night for Reki's parents, especially after the whole switching plan the twins had. He wasn't sure of how, but he knew that it had to be the day he would finally ask Reki if he wanted to be his boyfriend, they had been dating unofficially for a month, counting from the day Reki joined his school.
"Langa", his mother called, entering the room. "Oh, you look very handsome", she said with a dreamy look and without warning took a picture of him.
"Do you think Reki will like it?", Langa asked looking at himself in the mirror again.
"I think he will like it even if you wear a yeti costume", his mother answered with a small smile, then she approached the blue-haired boy and fixed his tie. "You are very nervous for a wedding that is not yours, son. Are you planning to do something?".
"I... Yes...", he murmured blushing, his mother smiled warmly at him.
"Reki-kun will say yes", she said gently caressing Langa's cheek.
"Do you really think so?", He asked shyly, his mother nodded just before a horn interrupted them.
"They came for you. Just tell him how you feel and things will work themselves out", his mother said with a smile.
When Langa left his house he was greeted by a black car, at the wheel was Miya's former butler, Shadow, he was wearing a slightly tight suit, Langa greeted him politely before set out on to 'Dope Sketch', the sports store of which Oka is the manager. When they moved to Okinawa, Shadow and Oka decided that Cherry and Joe's old house wasn't enough for six people, so, after a little discussion, they decided to be roommates and get other jobs, even though the parents insisted on giving them their same work. Shadow soon got a job at a flower shop and Oka talked to an acquaintance of his. Three weeks later, they were using the roof of the store to celebrate Joe and Cherry's wedding.
The car pulled up a few minutes later in front of the store and Langa quickly went up in expecting to find a red hair, but he was nowhere in sight, instead a robust, green-haired man met his gaze.
"Langa!", Kojiro greeted as he approached the younger man.
The blue-haired boy greeted him shyly, he was still a bit nervous around him, after all the first meeting they had was a bit... intense.
Langa was at the usual corner where Reki, Miya and he would meet to go to school or, as at that moment, go to S. At the beginning Kaoru didn't agree to let them participate in S races, but all it took was Kojiro talked to him to convince him, it didn't take them long to be recognized by the members of the community and, two weeks after going to Crazy Rock for the first time, they discovered the wall of fame where their parents -under the name of Cherry and Joe- were at the top next to a blue-haired man. That day, they came up with the brilliant idea to take both men to S, the place where their first marriage occurred. Only after convincing them and agreeing on a day to go, Langa realized that he was going to see in person for the first time the father with whom Reki spent most of his life, Kojiro. Needless to say he couldn't sleep soundly since then, anxious about the idea of meeting the green-haired man. What if he didn't like him? What if he decided that Reki deserved someone better? Maybe he would take not only Reki, but Miya back to Italy?.
"Langa!", Reki called out with a big smile as he skated over to the blue-haired boy, interrupting his thoughts. They had agreed that Miya would go with Cherry and Joe to S in the pink-haired man's car and Reki would go to get Langa, ignoring Kaoru's offer to go all in the car. "Let's go, my parents and Miya are already on their way, Shadow decided to stay at home with Oka", he said raising his hand to make their greeting, but Langa just kept looking at the redhead. "What's wrong?".
"I... Do you think your dad will like me?", Langa asked shyly, averting his eyes.
"I think he already likes you", Reki replied, tilting her head in confusion. "Today he told me he was happy to finally meet you".
"He did?", Langa asked in surprise, the redhead looked at him in the eyes before smiling slightly.
"Are you nervous to meet dad?", Langa couldn't help blushing.
"You can't blame me, you talk about him like he's a superhero, I'd hate to give him a bad impression", he muttered embarrassed, suddenly he felt a soft blow on his chest, when he looked he realized it was Reki's fist.
"You don't need to worry", the redhead said. "He was very excited to finally meet you, and dad Cherry has taken care to speak very well of you", he explained smiling, Langa gawked at him, as always when it came to the redhead, suddenly Reki took a step closer and took Langa's hand with a slight blush. "Besides... I won't leave your side, so when you meet him I'll be there with you".
That made Langa smile, he nodded with slight enthusiasm and indicated to Reki that it was time to go to S, but before the redhead let go of his hands to get on the board Langa pulled him and brought their lips together, Reki was surprised at first, but it didn't take long for him to reciprocate the kiss. A few seconds later they parted blushing and, without further words, went to Crazy Rock.
When they arrived Cherry and Miya were waiting for them at the entrance, with no sign of Joe anywhere.
"It was time", Miya said looking at the couple. "What took you so long, were you making out in an alley or something?", he asked, Reki turned bright red.
"Miya", the pink-haired man called. "Don't bother your brother".
"Hello, Kao-... Cherry-san", Langa greeted.
"Just Cherry is fine, it's good to see you, Langa".
"Where is dad?", Reki asked.
"He asked us to tell you that he'll be waiting inside", Cherry answered. "Maybe he wanted to make a big show of his presence", he added teasingly.
"Then let's go inside", Miya said.
They walked inside through the big gate, there both capmans recognized Cherry and greeted him with a handshake, then the four of them got on their boards and advanced inside S. On the way they didn't meet any people, not even capmans, they looked at each other confused until they reached the place where they were all gathered, the beginning of the arena. People excitedly shouted Joe's name, but the roar was louder when a girl shouted that 'Cherry-sama' was there too, and they made a path for the group to advance towards Joe.
"I can't believe it! It's them!", one boy shouted.
"They haven't been here in 12 years", a girl shouted.
"Are we going to have a beef between two S legends?", another boy shouted very excited.
"Oh! Maybe later", Joe said with his back to the group. "Right now I want to challenge someone else to a beef", people shouted in excitement at his words, some pointed at themselves asking to compete against him, but when he finally turned to his family, his skateboard was pointed at the blue-haired boy, who, for the first time, felt intimidated in S. "I challenge you to a beef, Snow".
There were a few seconds of silence for a bit before the members shouted the name 'Snow', some immediately started betting on Joe, others on Langa, everyone was very excited, except for the blue-haired who didn't even notice Reki's hand on his shoulder.
"Langa, are you okay?", he asked.
"Yes, I just... Your father just challenged me to a beef".
"Yeah, I had no idea he was planning to do that", Reki answered, slightly embarrassed. "But don't worry, I know you can do it, dad won't be so aggressive".
'So aggressive' wasn't enough to calm him down, but he really had no choice when they were all looking at him. He walked slowly to the starting line and positioned himself just like Joe, he glanced sideways at the green-haired man, Cherry was muttering something to him, then he broke away and Joe smiled at him. Without realizing it the traffic light turned green, losing valuable seconds that instantly left him several feet behind Joe, it took him two curves to be at an ideal distance, it was the first time he was competing with someone like him and, although he recognized some things in Reki's skating, Joe was powered by 300. Suddenly, in a straight, Joe slowed down and gently approached Langa.
"Reki told me you met at camp", Joe said in such a casual tone that the blue-haired man looked at him completely confused.
"Um... Yes, we shared a cabin before he was sent to isolation", he answered trying to stay focused on the track.
"And that's where he taught you to skate?", Joe asked, easily dodging some rocks.
"Yes, he...".
"Careful", Joe interrupted softly pointing to some rocks in Langa's way, the blue-haired boy quickly dodged and both competitors rounded a curve before the older man approached again.
"Tell me, Langa. Are you two good friends?", he asked without looking at the road with the skill of someone who has been there a thousand times.
"I like to think we are", Langa muttered shyly as he shifted his gaze between Joe and the track. It was hard enough to control his nerves while skating, now he kept wondering why Joe cornered him like that, alone and without Reki, to talk to him.
"He speaks very well of you", Joe said smiling at him. "Listen, I just wanted to see you skate. That's how I know the true face of a person, that's my philosophy", Joe explained, gently wiggling his skateboard. "Now I want you to give all of you in this race, otherwise I won't trust you".
Langa looked at him surprised, that was not what he expected, and the green-haired man seemed to know it, he even looked at him with a mysterious smile while he waited for an answer, Langa nodded and accelerated instantly, around him people shouted pointing out the incredible speed. In a moment he managed to catch up and overtake Joe, but in a curve the man jumped over a rock, kicked the wall and jumped in the right direction totally powered up, people went crazy while Langa lost a little speed due to the surprise, when he recovered he accelerated to catch up with him. Everything pointed to the beef being resolved at the factory, and as they passed through the last corner before reaching it, Joe approached Langa again.
"We still haven't defined what you get if you win", he said.
"Do you know what you want if you win?". The possibility that he might want to take Reki and Miya came back to his mind, maybe if Joe won he would tell him not to interfere.
"If I win you'll have to help me in something I'm planning to do", Joe explained ambiguously. "But if you win, I'll help you ask Reki to be your boyfriend".
Langa was instantly throw off balance at those words getting a laugh from the green-haired man, a strong blush appeared on his cheeks as he regained his pace, he looked at Joe in surprise.
"I'm afraid my son is too scared to take that step, maybe you can do it, and I could help you". Langa looked at him for several seconds, when he realized that the factory was very close he nodded. "Of course... If you lose you won't have my... ". He made an addition with his hands as if he was looking for the word. "... blessing".
When the blue-haired man heard that he felt the adrenaline rush through him and quickly took the lead, Joe laughed softly beside him before catching up. A few feet before the factory the adult swerved and went up a small ramp towards a giant vent next to the entrance, Langa looked at him impressed the moment he crossed the big fan and crossed to the other side, he could hear people shouting, but he didn't stop to admire him, he quickly entered the factory following his opponent with his eyes, Joe was in the lead. Suddenly he hit with his skateboard a beam that was in the way to move it aside, at that moment Langa had the idea that would give him the victory. Before he crossed the finish line and fell face first to the ground, he used the beam Joe left swinging to propel himself to victory.
"I'm impressed", Joe said with an easy smile, extending his hand to Langa. "I can see my son has good taste", he added, helping the blue-haired man up and making him blush.
"Langa! shouted a familiar voice in the audience, Reki ran towards them through the crowd and when he arrived with the competitors he threw himself into the arms of the blue-haired. "That was amazing, you beat dad".
"That's right, he beat me", Joe said looking at Langa with an accomplice smile. "I have no choice but to keep my part of the bet".
"Did you bet?", Miya asked looking between the two competitors.
"What did you bet?", Cherry asked, crossing his arms.
"Nothing!", Langa exclaimed nervously. "I mean... he said he would uh... would prepare food for me?", he mumbled nervously, there was silence for a few seconds until Joe spoke.
"That's right, how about later we go home and I do my part", Joe announced, the group agreed.
Shortly after Langa and Joe's beef a girl approached Cherry and challenged him, she lost by a moderate difference, as did the people who tried to defeat Joe, confident that a rookie had beaten him. After two hours they decided that it had been enough for 'the return of the legends', so they decided to leave, several members waved to them as they left, some managed to shake hands with Joe. When they arrived at the place where Kaoru's car and Kojiro's motorcycle were parked, the green-haired man stopped.
"Do you guys think you could go ahead", he asked, putting his hands in his pockets. "I need a minute with your father".
"But dad, it was my turn on the motorcycle", Miya complained looking at the adult.
"I promise I'll give you that ride another day", Kojiro said, crouching down to his full height, then leaned close to the black-haired boy's ear. "This is important," he whispered before pulling away and winking.
"Okay", Miya murmured. "Then a race home", he said looking at the two boys next to him.
The race ended in a tie between Reki and Miya, for the first ten minutes they were arguing about who won, but they let it go when they heard Langa's stomach growl, instead they decided to watch TV to wait for the adults. Half an hour later they arrived, both were blushing as they asked the twins to turn off the TV because they had to tell them something important, the blue-haired noticed the silver rings they both had on their ring fingers.
As Kojiro approached Langa with a tense smile, the teenager began to fix his clothes, he had a wrinkle he hadn't noticed, a small stain and suddenly felt that his hair was very messy.
"Take it easy, kid", Joe said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You look good, I'm sure Reki will love it".
"Thank you, sir", he murmured, then looked carefully at Kojiro, he was wearing a white suit with a pink tie, his hair was combed and he was almost sure his lip was quivering. "I'm sure Kaoru-san will like your suit too", the green-haired man stiffened and looked at Langa in surprise, a nervous smile settled on his lips.
"Am I that obvious?", he asked scratching his head in embarrassment.
"Just a little".
"Someone would say that marrying the same person a second time would be easier, but I think I'm more nervous than the first time".
"But this time it's different, isn't it?", Langa asked, Kojiro's gaze softened.
"Of course it is", he answered. "This time I don't plan to separate us again, ever".
Langa couldn't help but smile when he saw the love that emanated from the green-haired man's eyes, it made him wonder if he looked like that when he talked about Reki, maybe when they got married his eyes would shine like Kojiro's. Wait a second... Getting married?.
"Anyway", Joe sighed looking towards the wedding arch without noticing Langa's mental breakdown or the blush on his cheeks. "Reki and Miya are downstairs, go with them".
"Yes", Langa replied and with a small bow turned toward the staircase, but a hand on his shoulder stopped him.
"Oh and... about our bet, you tell me and I'll do my part", he added, Langa felt his cheeks redden even more and nodded his head before going downstairs.
When he entered the store was empty, he took a few steps before shouting Reki's name, a few seconds later the redhead appeared from a door at the end of the room, he was wearing a black suit with a red tie, he wasn't wearing his headband and his hair was slightly tidier, the view didn't help Langa's chaotic thoughts.
"Langa!", Reki called with a smile, then motioned with his hand for him to come closer. "Come, we're helping dad".
The blue-haired nodded shyly and went with him to the room, when he entered he immediately saw Reki's father, he was wearing a white kimono, his hair was grabed by a comb that had floral arrangements of sunflowers and sakuras, some locks surrounded his face, from his waist hung a pale green himo haori, Miya was finishing fixing his suit smoothing every wrinkle he could find.
"Wow", Langa murmured when he saw him. "You looks amazing Kaoru-san".
"Thank you, Langa-kun, you're very kind", Kaoru replied, the blue-haired boy noticed the small tremor in his voice, he paid more attention to his face and noticed how tense he was.
"You don't have to be nervous", Langa said.
"I'm not", he answered quickly, making the twins laugh.
"I met Kojiro-san, he's as nervous as you are", Langa said with a smile, Kaoru looked at him slightly surprised, then looked at his reflection in the mirror in front of him, a small smile appeared and his shoulders relaxed noticeably.
"He is. Isn't he?", he murmured, then looked at the ring on his finger.
Kaoru clung to Kojiro's waist more than necessary as they rode on the green-haired man's motorcycle, he knew Joe wouldn't risk teasing him while driving, that's why he was surprised when a hand gently rested on his own, he felt his cheeks burn and concentrated on the scenery, only then he realized he knew that road.
"What are we doing here?", he asked once they stopped.
"Do you remember this place?"; Kojiro asked as he got off the motorcycle and walked towards a wall full of graffiti.
"How could I forget", Kaoru replied, surprised that Kojiro dodged the question. "We used to spend many hours here".
"Yes", Kojiro affirmed with a nostalgic smile, then bent down. "You did a Laser Flip here for the first time".
"I remember", he murmured and approached the wall slowly. "It was also where you first broke your leg".
"You were complaining for a whole month about what an idiot I was every time I couldn't use a stair", Kojiro said with a smile. -The funny thing is that you were always there every time I faced a stair", he added turning to the pink-haired man with a lopsided smile.
"I was there just to tease you", he muttered holding his gaze, happy that the mask hid his face and the blush on it.
"And the searches on your phone about the proper care of a broken leg were part of the teasing, weren't they?", he said, taking a step closer and reveling in the look of surprise in those golden eyes.
"How did you-..."
"The blue-haired devil", he answered, putting his hands in his pockets.
"That son of a bitch", Cherry insulted, averting his gaze.
"Actually...", Kojiro said, Kaoru noticed how his voice heasitate slightly. "I think it was the only good thing he ever did in our lives".
"What? Meddling in my affairs? Thanks for the support, you brainless gorilla", he replied, crossing his arms.
"Maybe you could let me finish, you idiot", Kojiro said irritated, it seemed that the pink-haired man wanted to answer, but decided hold back. "As I was saying... it was the only good thing because... I realized that, perhaps, you reciprocated my feelings".
"For looking for how to treat your broken leg?", Kaoru asked sincerely confused.
"For being willing to put up with me for a month and being there even if, in your eyes and only your eyes, I acted like a baby".
"Which you definitely did".
"And that... you don't do that for anyone, especially you. When Adam came into our lives he made me feel like I was just stealing time from you, he took it upon himself to make that quite clear". Kaoru's face became skeptical and slightly angry at hearing that. "But seeing that you actually wanted to spend as much time with me as I did with you made me feel enough adrenaline to invite you here the next day and declare".
"I remember that too", Kaoru muttered with a smile, suddenly Kojiro was reaching out his hand towards him.
"Your hand".
"Why?", he asked quickly.
"Just trust me, pinkie", Kojiro said smiling. Kaoru looked at him for a few seconds before doing what he asked, the green-haired man took his hand gently and extended his palm, then placed something in it, Kaoru recognized it immediately.
"You said you threw it away", he whispered as he brought the triangular necklace closer to his eyes to inspect it better, Kojiro let out a small laugh resting his hand on the back of his neck.
"Yes, I was worried about what you would say if I told you that I still kept it, I mean, I was still engaged to Miki when you asked", he replied slightly blushing.
"It is... in good condition", he murmured feeling something warm in his chest.
"Don't sound so surprised, four eyes", Kojiro said averting his gaze, then cleared his throat. "Do you remember his special function?".
"You're easy to please if you consider it special", Kaoru said as he opened the necklace, but his body froze instantly".
"Kaoru... the last time I did this was at the airport before I left to Italy, and everything was ruined after that", Kojiro explained taking another step towards the pink-haired man and holding his open hands between his own. "This time I want to remedy that, and I can't think of a better place to do it than where it started, exactly here, the place where I declared".
There was silence for a few seconds, seconds that were eternal for Kojiro, he was questioning all week if he was making the right decision, they had only been together for two weeks, the first days they spent a lot of time alone together, but organizing a spontaneous move from one country to another was complicated and they lost valuable time, so the idea came to Kojiro's head, it was hard not to consider it a good idea, the man missed a flight just to be with him, to mend their relationship, that had to mean something didn't it. Then the tears fell, and that was the first sign that he had made a big mistake, he had gone too far ahead.
"K-Kaoru", he stammered nervously. "All right, maybe it was too hasty, you don't have to say yes, I-...".
"Shut up, idiot ape", Kaoru said without taking his eyes off the ring, Kojiro looked at him completely conflicted, if there were insults it couldn't be that bad. "I thought you threw it away".
"Yes, I lied, aren't you paying attention?", Kojiro asked trying to calm his nerves, without warning Kaoru deposited a small white box on the green-haired man's hands, he looked at it in surprise, the moment he opened it he found a triangular figure too familiar.
"No way", he said while a smile made up on his lips, he took the necklace out of the box and looked at it carefully.
"I couldn't find it in any store, so I asked Reki for help to make it", he murmured looking atentively at the floor, even so he caught out of the corner of his eye how Kojiro put on the necklace without taking his eyes off the object, Kaoru gently wiped his tears.
"You still haven't given me an answer, pinkie", he said looking at the pink-haired, Cherry's eyes strayed to the necklace and stayed there, Joe understood the message and opened it.
Kojiro's smile tripled in size when he found a silver ring inside, Kaoru didn't manage to formulate a sneer before their lips were pressed together and the green-haired man's arms were completely around him.
"I'm ready", Kaoru affirmed with renewed strength as he rose from his seat.
"I'll go tell dad!", Miya exclaimed excitedly.
"Let's go Langa", Reki called taking the blue-haired boy's hand and running after his brother, the excitement prevented him from seeing his actions and his friend's blush, Kaoru smiled as he watched them leave, then kept his eyes on his ring until his redhead son went to get him to start the ceremony.
It was a small thing, Shadow, Oka, Kojiro's sister's family and Kaoru's mother were in it, only the closest people were invited, both had agreed that their wedding in S was fantastic and now it was a good memory again, but it was time to do something quiet.
They had decided that they would both be delivered to the altar by their children, Miya with Kojiro and Reki with Kaoru, so when they both arrived on the roof of Dope Sketch they stood face to face with Kojiro and Miya, a smile shared between the four of them before the redhead took his dad's hand and together they walked towards the bridal arch. Kaoru watched as his -again- future husband waited for him.
"Don't go!", Kaoru shouted as he sat up quickly, he was very agitated and his heart was pounding. By mere instinct he felt around the side of his bed, when he felt nothing he turned around, his chest tightened, he didn't need his glasses or any more light than what was filtering through the window to know he was alone. "Carla, time", he called as tears slid down his cheeks.
"5 am, master", the AI answered from the phone on the nightstand, the pink-haired man didn't speak until several minutes later.
"Where is Kojiro Nanjo?", he asked without looking up from the empty space.
"Italy, master".
"Be more specific!", he demanded, clenching the sheet he was clutching in his hands.
"Rome, recently opened a restaurant called 'Sia la Luce', the owner is Kojiro Nanjo, master", the AI answered a few seconds later.
"Buy a plane ticket to Rome", he murmured without moving.
"There are no flights until tomorrow at 10 am", Carla answered.
"Buy it".
"Yes, master", he answered and after a few seconds he spoke again. "Ready, set alarm at 7:30 for the trip".
After that there was silence, Kaoru kept his gaze on his hands clenching the sheet tightly, the tears kept coming even though the pink-haired man remained indifferent to them. His mind was occupied with millions of thoughts about his ex-husband, the divorce had been made official the previous evening when it was a month since Kojiro had left the country, which explained Kaoru's nightmares.
A loud noise caused the pink-haired man to look towards the door with attention, he quickly headed towards the room where his 3 year old son was sleeping while wiping his tears, Miya was covered up with the sheets of his bed, Kaoru slowly approached.
"Miya", he called softly, his voice cracked, but he cleared his throat, the boy peeked out very carefully.
"Monster", he muttered when the upper half of his face was visible, Kaoru smiled without realizing it, then thought for a few seconds what he should do.
"I can sleep with you, so the monster won't come near", he murmured crouching down to his height and stroking his hair, the boy, to Kaoru's relief, didn't take long to nod, the pink-haired didn't want to sleep alone.
Once it was decided that they would sleep together the pink-haired entered the bed, his son quickly clung to him, Kaoru hugged and caressed him until his breathing was regulated, he looked at the clock in his son's room, it was 8 in the morning, Carla's alarm had gone off and he never heard it, he spent hours thinking. He looked at Miya sleeping peacefully next to him, then he turned his gaze to the empty bed on the other side of the room. How will Reki be? Will he cling to Kojiro like he did when he had nightmares? Will Kojiro be taking good care of him? Of course he was taking good care of him, he was an idiot, but also a good father. Kaoru bit his lip hard trying not to scream in frustration, his son and the love of his life were gone, surely it was his fault, maybe it was best to let them go, maybe he should have let him take Miya, but he couldn't lose all three of them. He did his breathing exercises to calm himself, when the little black-haired boy in his sleep hugged him tighter, he decided to close his eyes and rest. He would not take the flight.
That situation repeated itself many times over the next few weeks, they slowed down a bit when they moved to Tokyo, but they were still there, only becoming occasional after Miya turned 10. That was approximately 25 flights cancelled and 30 that he never made it to.
Kojiro tried to breathe calmly as he walked towards the altar, he looked at his son next to him, it was very noticeable how happy he was to see his parents getting married, that smile helped him relax. He inhaled deeply before turning to Kaoru, he, being escorted by Reki, walked forward certainty, that was enough to make sure everything would go well. When they arrived the grooms looked at each other while the judge recited the corresponding speech, but Kojiro wasn't really listening, he had lost himself in Kaoru's golden eyes and in the feeling of having their hands together again, suddenly he saw how Cherry's lips moved, he was telling him something.
"What?", he asked, laughter from the guests followed.
"Your vows?", the pink-haired asked with a smirk. "Did your brain dry up, gorilla?".
"Um...", Kojiro stammered, still not recovering from the trance he had gotten into at seeing Kaoru.
"Okay, I'll go first", Kaoru said. "When I first met you I thought you were the most irritating person on the planet, Oka agreed with me".
"That's true", Oka said, making the people around laugh.
"Sometimes I still do, but irritating or not... until thirteen years ago you were the most important person in my life, then you were replaced by two demons that brought us to this moment", Miya and Reki bumped their fists proudly. "For twelve years I had never felt so lost and when I saw you smiling at me again after you got out of the pool, I knew I was doomed to love you forever, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
A sobbing was heard from the audience, when Kojiro turned around he was surprised to see that Shadow wasn't the only one crying, his sister, Kaoru's mother and Reki were crying too, the redhead wiped his tears while Miya bothered him, even when the black-haired boy was teary eyed.
"Although... many times a day I questioned myself if you love your machine more-...".
"Carla is not a machine", Kaoru interrupted quickly.
"... than me, the truth is that I have never doubted my feelings for you, not even a thousand miles away in another country... not even a step away from your studio in Tokyo", he murmured, looking away.
"What?", Kaoru and Miya asked at the same time.
"Well... I came to visit my sister a couple of times and whenever I came I would detour to the Sakurayashiki calligraphy studio, I could say it was on my way to the airport, but it's not true, during these 12 years I was one step away from entering about 40 times, I'm ashamed to say I was very afraid to do it. Last year it happened more times in a row and in the end I broke down and was about to make the second biggest mistake of my life".
"The witch", the twins said at the same time.
"The point is... I love you, Kaoru, and I will never stop loving you, even if we are miles or years apart", he finished wiping a tear from Cherry's cheek.
"You are so corny", Kaoru said as he shed more tears. Kojiro's niece, Koyomi, approached with the rings.
"Kojiro Nanjo, do you-..?".
"Yes", Kojiro quickly answered. "I'm sorry... um... I do," he said, then slid the ring on Kaoru's finger gently.
"Kaoru-...".
"I do", he answered and put the ring on.
"I declare you husband and husband, you may kiss".
Before the judge finished speaking both men jumped into each other's arms and kissed, the guests applauded excitedly, but the bustle of the twins overcame them all, a smile appeared on both groom's faces as they listened to their children.
The banquet followed the ceremony, Langa sat with Reki, Miya and the twins' cousin, the adults sat on the other side of the table, from time to time the four teenagers discussed how Kaoru and Kojiro smiled while fighting, or how they stayed close together despite having enough space to separate. It wasn't long before the grooms decided to start the dance, they positioned themselves in the middle, joined hands and began the waltz. Reki looked at them with a completely excited smile, Langa, on the other hand, looked at him, his palms began to sweat and his heart to beat faster as the music progressed, he slightly looked away from the grooms to find a wink from Kojiro. A few seconds later Kojiro and Kaoru separated, the green-haired went for his sister and the pink-haired for his mother, they were dancing with them for several minutes, receiving affectionate words from both women, finally they went for their children, Miya went with Joe and Reki with Cherry, Kaoru's mother asked Hiromi to dance (he blushed a lot when he saw Oka smiling in his direction) and the Nanjo sister went for her husband. Langa felt his pulse increase exaggeratedly as the grooms exchanged dance partners and soon after Kojiro approached with Reki.
"Could you take care of him for me?", he asked offering Reki's hand with a knowing smile.
"Uh... I..".
"It's okay dad, Langa doesn't want to dance", Reki murmured blushing separating his hand from Kojiro's, but it was quickly held by another paler hand.
"I'd love to", the blue-haired boy said and approached Reki.
"Good", Kojiro replied with a complicit smile, patted his on the shoulder before heading to the food table, shortly followed by Kaoru.
"Langa, you really don't have to if you don't want to", Reki said averting his gaze, in return Langa squeezed his hand tighter and moved closer to him.
"But I do want to", the blue-haired boy said and walked towards the dance floor where Shadow and Oka were dancing, as well as Kojiro's sister with her husband.
Reki swallowed saliva as he placed a hand on Langa's shoulder, he felt a shiver run through his body when his partner left his hand on his waist, his blush only increased as he tried to follow the rhythm of the music looking anywhere but Langa, suddenly the blue-haired boy released his hand and caressed his cheek, slowly guiding his gaze towards him, once their eyes connected there was no way to separate them. They danced softly for several minutes, at the beginning the only thing on Langa's mind was to do correctly the steps he practiced for hours with Kojiro, as he relaxed he began to realize that he was at the right time to ask Reki the question.
"Thank you for coming", the redhead whispered before Langa could speak.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"I'm not saying it for that, I'm just... I'm happy that you accompanied me all the way here regarding my parents", he explained smiling.
At that moment Langa just wanted to kiss him, his smile will always be the blue-haired boy's weakness, but he had to focus, he would have time to kiss him when they were officially a couple, he inhaled deeply before Reki suddenly rested his head on his shoulder, feeling Reki's breath on his neck only increased the heat on his cheeks. He could see out of the corner of his eye how Miya was gesturing to him, he didn't really understand, but he was sure it was about asking him.
'Just saying what I feel', Langa thought. 'It's easy'.
"Reki, there's something I want to ask you", he murmured, Reki slowly pulled away from him and looked at him curiously.
"Excuse me", a soft and confidetly voice said, when the teens turned around they met Kaoru's mother. "May I dance with my grandson?".
"I um... Yeah, no problem", he replied glumly, giving Reki a glance before walking away and sitting on a chair near the food.
"Those guys are kind of slow", Hiromi said watching Langa walk away from Reki towards a seat, suddenly Oka spun around drawing the orange-haired man's attention back to him.
"They're just scared", Shokichi answered with a smile sticking closer to Shadow blushing him. "It's something new for them".
"I guess that's a good reason", he muttered looking away.
"Besides, they're in no hurry, now that Kojiro and Kaoru decided to stay in Okinawa they have all the time in the world".
"And I have time to convince you to go to S and skate with me", Hiromi added with a smile.
"I won't skate", Oka answered calmly.
"But you did, when we went on a trip," she corrected. "It took me hours to convince you".
"And that was the only time", Oka said averting his gaze, suddenly his eyes returned to Shadow with a lopsided smile. "Maybe you'll have to convince me", Hiromi's face turned completely red.
On the other side of the place was Langa with his elbow resting on his leg while eating a small cupcake, he sighed as he watched Reki dancing with his grandmother.
"Did you do it?", a female voice next to him asked.
"Can't you see his face, Koyomi?", Miya asked sitting on the other side of Langa. "Of course he didn't".
"I got distracted", he mumbled accepting a glass of soda from Koyomi.
"Slime coward", Miya replied drinking from his glass.
"Surely you've had too many girlfriends to call him a coward, haven't you?"; Koyomi asked teasingly, Miya looked away in annoyance. "I thought so", she added, Langa sighed depressedly. "Don't worry Langa", Koyomi said resting a hand on his shoulder. "Not everyone has it as easy as Uncle Kojiro and Uncle Kaoru".
Immediately the three teenagers looked towards the grooms, just like before they were sitting close together, chatting with each other while drinking wine, a big smile on both of their faces. Langa looked at them, he hated to admit that he envied the connection they shared, they even proposed to each other at the same time, that generated a great insecurity inside him and he stood up in the direction of the grooms.
"Langa", Kojiro greeted with a smile, the blue-haired boy noticed how his arm was on Kaoru's shoulders. "You didn't do it, did you?".
"I was about to do it", he answered, both men looked towards the dance floor where the pink-haired man's mother was hogging Reki.
"If you want I can go get her", Kaoru offered.
"No, I... I don't know if I should", he muttered, clutching his arm.
"What makes you say that?", Kojiro asked genuinely concerned.
"If I may ask, how did you know when to propose the second time?". That question provoked an astonished expression on the two men's faces and they both looked at each other. "You did it at the same time, didn't you, I saw that you both had rings that night".
"Yes, we proposed at the same time", Joe said.
"So if Reki didn't ask me, is it because he doesn't want to be with me?", he asked sadly.
"Wow, stop right there, kid", Kojiro said standing up. "You're being a little extreme, Reki is just scared, he's a little insecure".
"Listen, Langa, when we traveled to Italy Reki was very sad all the way, all he could think about was that he wouldn't be able to see you so often, and then, when he knew we were moving he kept smiling", Kaoru explained. "He really has strong feelings for you".
Langa turned to the redhead, he looked very happy with a little blush on his cheeks, Langa smiled at the sight.
"I'll try again, when I'm done dancing", he said and Kojiro put his hand on his shoulder.
Let me help you with that, I think my mother-in-law will like a dance with his beloved brother-in-law," he said walking towards the dance floor, at one point he looked at his black-haired son and winked at him, the boy nodded.
When Kojiro arrived with the couple it didn't take long to separate them, Reki separated from his grandmother and went to the table with groceries, Langa took that moment to try to talk to him, but before he could do it Miya stepped in and told his brother that they had to go get some things on the second floor, when Reki went to the stairs the black-haired man indicated to Langa that they would be back soon and that as soon as they finished he could talk to him. He decided to wait while eating, when the twins came back he headed towards them, but halfway there he realized that he had some cream on his face, so he went back to the table to wipe it off, when he turned around Reki was talking to his parents, a look of apology from Kojiro told him that they would be a while.
They were gathering to take some pictures, first it was the bgroom's family, then just the grooms, then pictures of the guests. At least an hour passed as they took pictures, at one point Reki attracted Langa in for one, but that was as close as he got to him, after that the redhead was unavailable, sometimes it was about the wedding, at other times he was talking to his family, even Shadow and Oka had time with him, Langa felt increasingly defeated. He finally gave up as the guests began to leave.
"I think it's time to go", Kojiro's sister said. "It's getting late".
"Yes, we'll be leaving too", Oka said holding hands with Shadow.
"Do you want a ride, kid?", Hiromi asked Langa.
"What? You can't leave yet", he said trying to hide his despair. "No one um... No one has thrown the bouquet".
"Do you want someone to throw the bouquet?", Koyomi asked confused.
"I got this" Kaoru said and went to pick up the bouquet he had left on his table, then turned his back to the guests. "1... 2... Hiromi, catch!", he exclaimed throwing the bouquet at the orange-haired man's face.
"What?!", Shadow shouted in surprise, grabbing the bouquet to avoid being hit in the face, he quickly realized what it meant and blushed furiously.
"Who knew", Oka said getting closer to Hiromi and looking him in the eyes.
"That's it", Kojiro said hugging Kaoru by the waist, then looked at Langa. "Was that what you wanted?".
"Umm... I... yeah, I think so", he mumbled hesitantly, Kojiro gave him a look of understanding, then whispered in the pink-haired man's ear and addressed the group.
"All right, before you leave you'll have to help us take the stuff down to the store", he said making his sister's whole family groan. "It's the price of attending the wedding, now let's go".
"That wasn't in the invitation", Koyomi complained heading to order.
"Now you have more time", Kojiro whisperedto Langa before following his niece.
They were up and down for at least an hour, when only the tables were left Kaoru decided that was enough and they could do that in the morning. Although he got to spend more time with Reki, it was never alone, except when they were in the storehouse dropping things off, but Langa wasn't too desperate to ask there.
"All right, now if my brother doesn't come out with any other surprises", Kojiro's sister said, Langa looked towards the green-haired man who was receiving something from Miya, then quickly turned around hiding what he had been handed.
"All right, you can go. We'll take Langa home".
"Okay, then we'll be going", Oka said, he and Shadow said goodbye to the people in the room and left.
"It was nice to attend your wedding again", Kojiro's sister said hugging Kaoru. "But I sincerely hope it will be the last one".
"I won't let him go again", Kojiro muttered kissing Cherry's head causing a blush on his cheeks. "Reki, how about Miya and you takes your aunt to the car, I'll take Mama Kaoru to hers".
"Don't call me that", the pink-haired woman scolded hugging her son, then her grandchildren and left the store followed by Kojiro.
"Let's go, Langa", Reki said following his brother to the exit.
"I'll need Langa", Kaoru said, the redhead nodded in confusion before leaving with the rest of his family. "Come on, let's go to the roof".
They both went up the side stairs, when they arrived Kaoru went to the edge and sat down watching his family say goodbye, Langa joined him shortly after, his gaze automatically went to the redhead.
"You couldn't", Kaoru said, it wasn't accusatory, just an affirmation.
"No", he muttered without taking his eyes off Reki, he was laughing while talking to his uncle.
"I understand how you feel, we planned everything, we had one or two extra plans so you could do it and the right time never came up", Kaoru explained, the way he sounded so personal made Langa look at him.
"Did Kojiro have plans when he asked you?", he asked
"Do you think Kojiro was the one who asked me to be his boyfriend?", he asked back raising an eyebrow.
"Didn't he?".
"Our relationship was a little complicated at the beginning, but no, he didn't. In fact we were dating for six months without it being anything official".
"Why?", Langa finally asked, looking away from Reki.
"I was coming out of a bad relationship", Kaoru answered looking at his husband, "I wasn't ready for anything official and Kojiro accepted it, we were together but without any title".
"I think I understand", Langa muttered, a few seconds later he frowned, "But I don't want to do that, is it wrong?".
"Of course not, but you should tell him", Kaoru answered, he turned his gaze towards the blue-haired boy, "Three months after we started our thing we had a little argument, Kojiro was willing to continue like that, but he was sad, then I decided it was time and I made a lot of plans to ask him to be my boyfriend in the most incredible and spectacular way.
#And it didn't work", Langa understood.
#17 plans were ruined because I was afraid, 10 were interrupted for some reason and 5 were ruined by Kojiro himself", Kaoru explained irritated. "Needless to say I was very frustrated, so much that I thought the universe was telling me that I shouldn't be with him", Langa looked straight at Kaoru, he hadn't been able to shake that feeling all day.
"And what did you do?".
"I gave up. We had been together for a little over 5 months, we were a couple of weeks away from Kojiro going to study in Europe when I gave up".
"So what happened?",Langa asked .
"The worst and the best night of my life".
Cherry was hugging his body in the usual place where he and Kojiro skated. Two hours ago the green-haired boy had gone home because the next day he had to take an early flight, half an hour later he had a panic attack and when he could finally calm down he couldn't find the strength to get up again, he didn't want to, his legs were cramped, had an headache and his face was sticky with tears, but he couldn't get up, if he did then everything would become real, Kojiro would go to another country, he would find someone else, he would fall in love with someone who wasn't afraid.
'Maybe it's for the best', Cherry thought. 'Kojiro... Kojiro deserves someone better...'.
The pink-haired boy, very slowly and with every muscle trembling, stood up, he looked at the direction Kojiro had gone, it was dark, barely visible the road. Kaoru took his skateboard and set off for home, every step made his legs ache, every second his mind was flooded with painful thoughts and every time that happened his chest tightened more and more. When he got home his parents didn't scold him, he knew it would be his last night with Kojiro before his trip so they didn't even bother to look at him, if they had they would have met with red and lost eyes. Minutes after Kaoru arrived home and threw himself on his bed it began to rain, something that only stimulated the pink-haired boy's pitiful emotional state, he closed his eyes and let the tears spill over for hours until he fell asleep. He never really knew what it was that woke him up, he just had a strong feeling that he should check his phone, and so he did, he had missed calls from Kojiro and several messages, he knew there was no point in reading them, that tomorrow wouldn't matter anymore, but Kaoru liked to torture himself, so he read them anyway. At first they were just questions, if he had arrived home okay and how he was feeling, when Kaoru didn't respond he started sending more messages warning that if he didn't respond he would call his mother, when he realized that the other 20 messages were probably empty threats he decided to slide the chat and turn off the device, but he paused for a second before locking his phone.
'Kaoru... I'm scared', the message read.
'I never thought it would be possible to be separated from you, I know it's selfish to think so, but I would love for you to travel with me to Italy, it's too late to make it a real proposal, although if I could, believe me I would'.
'All I want is to take you with me, as my partner or as my friend or... this weird thing we have'.
'Don't think I'm complaining! I just, I don't know, I wouldn't know how to answer when I have to deny someone a date, because I know they'll try', Kaoru couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the idiocy of his.... something.
Something.
That was their relationship, just a something. Because Kaoru was afraid and Kojiro was too patient, the feelings from before came back to the pink-haired man's head and he couldn't help but shed tears.
'Anyway, I hope you can call me as soon as possible. I know I usually help you calm down, and, even if you deny it, I know you like it when I sing to help you sleep', another smile escaped Kaoru at the message. 'But I've never told you that I feel calmer when I'm with you, too.'
The next message made Kaoru abruptly get out of his bed and quickly run for the exit, whether or not his parents were woken up by the noise didn't really matter, he just listened to the rain and the sound of his skateboard as he made his way to Kojiro's house.
'I love you, Kaoru'.
Never had those words ever been said, never explicitly, and he cursed his past self for forcing Kojiro to say them over messages.
'I love you, Kaoru'.
After the pink-haired man never answered Kojiro stopped texting, but an hour after ceasing he sent one last one, no more than 15 minutes before Kaoru checked his phone.
'I love you, Kaoru'.
It sounded like a goodbye. He knew they would separate, that eventually he would leave, that he would meet someone else and leave him, but there was one thing he never admitted, never said out loud because he didn't know what that feeling in his throat was, until he did, and he said it in the middle of the night halfway to Kojiro's house.
"I don't want this to end", he muttered using all his strength to move faster. "I don't want this to be a goodbye".
Five minutes later, he arrived at Kojiro's house, breathing between sharply and not fully aware of the cold in his body. Without giving it much thought he set his board on the ground and climbed the tree that overlooked Kojiro's window, knocking once before the green-haired boy opened it.
"Kaoru, what the hell are you doing?!", he exclaimed making the pink-haired come in and handing him a towel that fortunately he had on his desk, it smelled like his shampoo. "What are you doing here so lat. Is everything alright?".
"No", Kaoru answered automatically, instantly he had the urge to cover his mouth, but he had acted impulsively all the way, he could go on like this a little longer. He took out his soaked phone, which, miraculously, was still working, and placed it in front of Kojiro. "What's that?", he asked.
"Oh... That...", Kojiro muttered, looking away. "I just wanted to tell you, before I...".
"Before you leave", Cherry interrupted, his voice trembling. "That's why it sounds like a goodbye?".
He didn't want to get his hopes up, but he really expected Kojiro to deny it, or even get defensive, instead he just looked away sadly and said nothing. Kaoru's heart squeezed tightly.
"It's too late and you can't leave in the rain", Kojiro said after a few seconds, he went to his bed where he took his phone. "You can sleep here, I'll go to the sofa".
Kaoru doesn't know at what moment he went from standing by the window to clinging tightly to Kojiro's back as the green-haired put a hand on the door handle. He was breathing hard and his arms ached, but he wasn't about to let go, and when Kojiro seemed ready to speak the pink-haired did.
"I'm sorry," he declared. "I've been doing it all wrong".
"Kaoru?", Kojiro asked gently, trying to turn towards the pink-haired boy, but the grip he held was too strong so he just looked at him sideways.
"I've been trying for months to ask you, I wanted it to be perfect, it had to be perfect because... otherwise then you would leave me and...".
"Wait, Kaoru, what are you talking about?", Kojiro asked finally getting out of Kaoru's grip and looking him in the eyes.
"I wanted to ask you to be my boyfriend", Kaoru murmured letting tears run freely down his cheeks. "I wanted to... make it official, but I was afraid. Now you're going to Italy and you're saying goodbye and it's already late".
There was silence for several seconds as they both kept eye contact, Kaoru felt his body was starting to give in to tiredness and Kojiro noticed it too, so he gently guided him to the bed, then used the towel to gently dry his hair, Kaoru didn't look away from Kojiro's face, he was frowning slightly.
"You're upset", the pink-haired muttered, Kojiro stopped his movements, he sighed as he went to his suitcase.
"Yes", he affirmed, opening the bag and taking out some clothes. "I'm upset because you're not sure about me".
"Of course I am!", Kaoru exclaimed, surprised by his own outburst.
"Then why do you think I would leave you if you try something that isn't perfect?", Kojiro asked, handing him some clothes, it didn't sound accusatory, rather it sounded sad, that increased Kaoru's guilt.
"I... I don't know. It's just that you've been nothing but nice to me, with how I feel and what I went through. I guess I didn't think I deserved something so good and made up my own excuses to believe you could leave me. I really didn't want to lose you", Kaoru muttered, taking the offered clothes in his hands and not looking at the green-haired boy.
"You keep talking as if you already have", Kojiro muttered heading for the door.
"What?", Kaoru asked, looking up.
"I'll go get you something warm, get dressed", Kojiro answered leaving the room.
Kaoru stood motionless for several seconds before deciding to change his clothes, once he was done he decided to curl up on the bed hugging his knees. Kojiro had said he hadn't lost him, but they were a few hours away from him leaving for another country. How had he not already lost him.
When Kojiro returned to the room he handed Kaoru a cup of tea, told him that his parents had called and he explained that he was there, then went to his laptop while Kaoru finished drinking his tea. The pink-haired was silent as he warmed himself and watched Kojiro's back, Kaoru could tell he was tense and tired, he averted his gaze to the open suitcase on the floor, his heart squeezed when he saw the necklace he had given him months ago on a weekend they had escaped to Tokyo, that day their parents grounded them, but that was the best weekend he had since Adam had left.
Minutes later Kojiro got up without bothering to turn off his laptop, Kaoru noticed the screen, he was looking at details of his flight, the time he would be leaving, 9 am, was highlighted.
'That's in five hours', Kaoru thought.
'You keep talking as if you have', Kojiro had said minutes before. Kaoru was filled with determination that quickly faded as Kojiro turned to look at him, weariness and sadness unfounded in his eyes.
"Let's go to sleep", he muttered, heading to close the suitcase. "I have to wake up in three hours", Kaoru just nodded.
Neither was very excited about the idea of going to sleep, both knew that the previous conversation had not been resolved, they also knew that if it remained unfinished they would be like this for as long as Kojiro was away, but neither had the strength or confidence to speak. Silently they settled on the bed, their backs to each other, not touching or moving. Kaoru wanted to cry, he had done it enough that day, but when it came to Kojiro it was impossible to dry up, he was the most important person in his life. Gently he turned around facing Kojiro's back, the green-haired clearly sensed the movement if the way his shoulders were so tense meant anything. The words came out of Kaoru without thinking.
"Do you think... we could...?".
"Yes", Kojiro interrupted quickly and turned around reaching out his arms to cradle Kaoru, who soon clung to him as he hugged him. The tears came again, but this time he felt Kojiro cry with him as he caressed his hair. After several minutes of silent crying the green-haired spoke again. "Kaoru... I would wait for you infinitely".
Kaoru clung tighter at those words, despite everything he said Kojiro was still caring for him, worrying and giving him a chance to be ready. He inhaled Kojiro's scent to give him strength.
"Kojiro", he murmured buried in his chest, he made a noise of acknowledgement. "It's still about four hours before your flight".
"Yes", Kojiro replied in confusion.
"So you're still here", he rambled, trying to find the words.
"That's... It's kind of obvious".
"If I.... If I asked right now... if you want to be my boyfriend", Kojiro's breathing stopped. "What would you answer?", he asked softly without looking up.
"I think there's only one way to find out", Kojiro muttered as he regained his composure.
"Kojiro...", Kaoru began, but was interrupted.
"I would like... I would like you to look at me... If you want to", he murmured. It was the pink-haired boy's turn to freeze, Kojiro's voice clearly indicated a suggestion, he wasn't going to force him to do anything, but this time Kaoru didn't flinch and looked up connecting with those red eyes.
"Kojiro... Would you be my boyfriend so that I can be at ease withoutthinkingthatyou'llfindsomeonebecause you'llbetiedtome?", Kaoru asked, increasing the speed progressively. Kojiro laughed softly and leaped to his lips, God Kaoru didn't know how he would survive without Kojiro's kisses.
"Kaoru...", he murmured after that long kiss ended. "I thought we already were", he replied pulling Kaoru closer and burying his face in his hair, the pink-haired boy hit him making him laugh.
"Idiot", he said while tangling his legs, a few seconds later he spoke again. "You still don't answer", he murmured shyly.
"Yes", Kojiro answered with complete confidence. -I accept to be your boyfriend so that you can be at ease without believing that I will find someone, because all I have always wanted and... and I've always loved... is you", he added feeling Kaoru relax for the first time in the night. "Now let's go to sleep".
"Just one more thing", Kaoru murmured.
"What is it?", Kojiro asked, the pink-haired was silent for so long that Kojiro thought he fell asleep, but when he spoke again he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep.
"I love you too", he murmured, thankful that Kojiro couldn't see the red in his cheeks. "And I'm not saying goodbye".
"After that we really couldn't sleep", Cherry explained, concluding his story.
"So you finally asked him?", Langa murmured in surprise.
"That's right, and, if I may say so, it was much more perfect than I planned. I would never have been able to say it if Kojiro hadn't given me the confidence I needed".
"The confidence you needed"" Langa repeated thoughtfully.
"Anyway, you might want to stay up here for a few more minutes, the view is spectacular, and you need to think", Kaoru said, Langa nodded without looking at him completely immersed in his thoughts and completely missing the object Kaoru left next to him.
When the pink-haired pink entered back to the store he found Miya and Joe in a power struggle. Joe was clearly just holding his ground while Miya was doing the force and Reki desperately looking all over the place.
"What are you looking for Reki?", he asked softly.
"My phone, I can't find it", he mumbled absentmindedly as he continued searching.
"Why don't you ask Langa? I think I saw him with it, he's on the terrace".
"Good idea", Reki said before running to the terrace.
"So the plan goes into action?", Kojiro asked looking at his husband.
"I hope it works, getting his phone out wasn't easy", Miya muttered giving up on even being able to move his father's arm.
"If this doesn't work we'll have to talk to Reki about conficence", Kaoru said sitting down next to Kojiro, he quickly put his arm around him and kissed his head.
"The honeymoon is tomorrow", Miya said in disgust as he pulled out his phone.
"It's not a honeymoon if the children go", Kojiro corrected with a soft smile.
"Reki and I took it upon ourselves to get the room farthest away from you and have different activities, so yes, it is a honeymoon. I just hope I don't have to comfort Reki for a week".
"I trust Langa", Kaoru said with a small smile. "He's less brainless than Kojiro was, he'll be fine".
"It didn't take you long to insult me, right four eyes", Kojiro mumbled.
"You're not doing your weird rituals in front of me!", Miya exclaimed even more disgusted making his parents laugh.
Reki walked up the stairs quickly, when he reached the terrace he instantly spotted Langa, his phone was next to him why did he have it.
"Langa" Reki called approaching the blue-haired boy, he looked very thoughtful. "What are you doing here?", he asked taking his phone.
"Just enjoying the view", he muttered without looking at him. Reki followed his gaze towards the city lights, a smile appeared on his face.
"It's great to be home at last", he said without thinking after several minutes, Langa turned to him. "I always knew something was missing in me", he murmured with a smile. "I really thank you for helping Miya and me", he added, connecting his gaze with Langa.
"It's the least I could do", the blue-haired said approaching Reki. "After what you guys did for me".
"I...", Reki mumbled, averting his eyes and blushing slightly. "I wish we had spent more time together, before we left for my parents' honeymoon", Langa looked at him for a few seconds before reaching over and grabbing his hand.
"It's okay", he said with a small smile, Reki looked at him blushing even more. "I'm not worried anymore, now that we're in the same country. I don't know what I would do if I had to wait months to see you", Reki made tense at his words, clearly very nervous, that made Langa smile even more.
They were staring at each other, they were alone and talking about them, Langa knew it was the perfect time to ask, but... he remembered Cherry's story, he was scared and insecure, if Reki was like that then he didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable or push him. Against all his strength he swallowed the question he was about to ask and directed Reki's hand to his chest where his heart was pounding.
"That's how I feel when I have you close to me", he said calmly, Reki looked at him in surprise. "I've never felt this way about anyone, ever. This is only caused by you, Reki. The redhead looked away embarrassed and slightly depressed".
"Do you really believe that?", he asked without looking at him. In return Langa took his cheek and joined their lips, Reki was surprised at first, but it didn't take long for him to relax and let himself be carried away by the kiss. All that time he could feel Langa's heart increasing its rhythm and strength. "Langa...", he murmured when they separated the blue-haired boy caressed his cheek.
"Come on", Langa said after several seconds of silence, he gave hi. a smile before walking past the redhead, but he didn't make it far before he felt his arm being tugged, as he turned around Reki was still in place lightly squeezing his hand and keeping his face hidden.
"If I don't do this now....", Reki muttered, then quickly looked up and looked Langa in the eyes, a new determination came to him. "Langa... I want to ask you... I think you know what I want to ask you", Langa looked at him completely surprised. Hesitantly, the blue-haired approached Reki until he gently touched his cheek, the boy with two-colored eyes looked at him.
"Then do it", Langa said when their gazes connected. Reki swallowed before opening his mouth, he stayed like that for a few seconds until finally the words came out.
"Langa... Do you want to...?".
"Yes", Langa answered with determination looking intensely at Reki.
"You didn't let me finish!", Reki exclaimed completely reddened.
"I'm sorry", Langa muttered with a small smile that gave him away. "Please continue".
"Langa... Do you want to... be.... my boyfriend? ", Reki asked keeping his eyes on the blue-haired.
"I'd love to", Langa answered , he let go of Reki's hand to hold both cheeks and join their lips once more, this time for longer, trying to convey to him all the emotion bubbling in his stomach, after a few more seconds they separated. "Thank you, Reki".
"Why are you thanking me?" the redhead asked in confusion, placing his hand on Langa's hand.
"For get into my life", Langa answered with a big smile, the blush on Reki's cheeks increased furiously, still a smile formed on his lips, he looked away to the cityscape that was visible from the rooftop, he sighed softly showing how relieved he was.
"Should we go back now?", Reki asked, still smiling.
"No", Langa answered, took a step closer and let go of Reki's cheek to take his hand, then looked in the same direction as the redhead. "Let's enjoy the view a little more".

"I love you so much", Kojiro murmured between warm kisses with his husband as they made their way to the hotel room, their children had gone off on their own as promised while they enjoyed themselves in their own way.
"I know", Kaoru replied leaving room for Kojiro to exploit his neck with his lips. "I love you too", he added shyly in a whisper, but the intensity with which the green-haired ran his hands over him body indicated that he heard it loud and clear.
"Cat son's message", Carla said.
"Play it", Cherry ordered as Kojiro continued to caress and kiss freely.
"Playing it", Carla replied. "Reki asked Langa for courtship, now it's official".
"No way!", both adults exclaimed excitedly.
"Carla, call Red son", Kojiro ordered excitedly.
"Miya told you, didn't he?", Reki asked embarrassed.
"Tell us everything", Kojiro answered taking his husband's hand as they sat listening to their son.
The first night of the honeymoon ended in a two-hour call about Reki and Langa and their official relationship.
