Chapter Text

You sat, holding your aching head in your hands in one of the restroom stalls. The loud music had been too much for you, the bright lights, and on top of that you had been attempting to socialize with your friend and ignore the freaky animatronics.

It was her birthday after all. She decided the pizzaplex was a perfect location for her party despite the fact that it was mostly for young children.

You’d texted her that you had to leave after deciding that you were, in fact, not okay to go back out and enjoy the rest of the party. You felt bad about it but you didn’t really have any other option.

No point in spoiling the rest of it by being a grumpy sad sack the entire time.

“Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex is now closed-” The booming announcement shook you from your thoughts.

You quickly pulled your phone from your pocket, it was nearly dead but you managed to make out the time before it shut off completely.

Midnight. Shit. How did you miss that?

“Initiating nighttime protocols.” It continued.

You got up, quickly stuffing your phone into your pocket. Maybe someone was still out there? Hopefully.

There weren't many workers here that you’d noticed. When you’d eaten and gone to the arcade you’d only seen bots working the ticket stands and making food. Which made it hard to have much fun at all.

But you couldn’t just stick in the bathroom the entire time. You stood, trying to think of where you could find help. You doubted the animatronics would be very…understanding of your situation.

No doubt they’d immediately view you as an intruder. No. You’d save that as a last resort. You didn’t feel like explaining your situation to cops anyways.

That’s when it hit you, there must be some sort of technician that worked on the animatronics. Surely they’d still be here. “Routine maintenance,” 30 minutes ago they’d said something about that. The animatronics had routine maintenance for a few days.

You hadn’t paid attention to the rest of the announcement but you hoped you were right.

You pulled out the map that the horrifying map bot gave you when you’d first walked in. The animatronics each had rooms where they stayed and took photos with kids, that was your best bet for finding a technician.

You stepped outside the stall and shuddered a bit as the bright white lights turned off, it took your eyes a few moments to adjust to the annoying blue neon light of the bathroom. You started your way down the confusing halls and found your way to Rockstar Row.

You spotted Chica’s room first and as you made your way past the glass you peeked inside, no tech.

Next was Montgomery. The eerie pounding noises were enough to deter you from entering it’s room. That didn’t exactly sound like a technician.

Roxanne was next. No tech. It was blankly staring into a mirror with it’s creepy eyes. Was it…talking to itself?

Could animatronics even do that?

And last on the row was Freddy. The curtains were drawn, this seemed pretty promising given you didn’t hear any pounding noises like with Montgomery. But there was only one way to tell if there was a technician, you’d have to go inside.

You stepped in front of the door, digging through your wallet for a moment until you found your photo pass. You were supposed to take pictures with the animatronics with your friend after the show, but fortunately that didn’t happen.

You didn’t like the thought of getting too close to one of those things anyways.

You use the pass and step inside looking around for a moment before you come to the unfortunate realization that there was no technician inside of here. In fact, there was a serious lack of animatronic bears here as well. Not that you were disappointed, just curious.

Where was Freddy?

Maybe the technician took the thing off somewhere and they’d be returning soon. You sighed. It seemed better to wait in here a bit and check your map then to go running off blindly. If there were no technicians here then where would they be?

You headed to the couch that was nestled in the corner of the room, stepping over the scattered toys and settling in next to the large plush Freddy. You yawned, drawing the map from your pocket and glancing over it.

You hadn’t realized how tired you’d been until you’d come into this room. But now the fatigue was beginning to set into your muscles.

Closing your eyes you took a deep breath and tried to focus on the task at hand. But confusion clouded your brain.

It was impossible to think when you were warm, comfy, and absolutely exhausted.

Maybe you’d just close your eyes for a moment or two. It couldn’t hurt things. It’s not like the security bots you’d avoided on the way here could do any real damage. They’d just call the cops.

And if a tech found you they’d just wake you and you could get out of this neon hellscape before you had another meltdown from the bright lights and the constant noise.

Yeah.

Just a few minutes.

You let yourself drift off to sleep.
