Summary
There is a lot of speculation about why soulmates are bonded through their pain. Some suggest it is about bonding with their future significant others, that you can truly empathize with people when you have gone through their worst moments with them, unknowingly or not. Others believe it is about balance – that the universe was balancing out the good that came with having someone you are guaranteed to love and have love you back by doubling the pain and anguish you would experience throughout your life. And still more people think it is to help people find their soulmates, for people are more likely to talk about the injuries they have gotten than about their happiest moments.
