Work Text:

The calm of night has enchanted the world in its dark embrace. The skies were a tad cloudy, but it was a relatively peaceful night. The remnants of the mothership from Shifu's invasion are a blocked off site and could be considered a place of ruins. Everyone was advised to stay clear from the debris on the off chance that something fell apart or if some kind of self defense measure activated as things were still uncertain about the ship. Granted at this point, it’s been several years since the ship has fallen. If anything was going to activate some self defense protocol, it likely would have happened by now. Between all the curious kids, Suguri, Hime, or even Sora, came by and checked the place out. Things were quiet around the ship.

Deep in the core of the ship however did some activity begin to stir. Despite the ship being heavily damaged in Suguri’s final attack and crashing into the planet, there was still some power left inside the core. It was small, but active. What the power was being supplied to was unsure but nonetheless it was giving energy to something. Perhaps it was running on a backup generator, or maybe it was looking to try doing some self repair. The low hum of the machinery was faint but it was echoing out into the night

The afternoon lull has landed on Suguri’s home. Suguri had just finished making and cleaning up lunch for Hime and Sora. Now they are in their self proclaimed “digesting period” where they take a break on the sofa. The period is supposed to only last for half an hour, but nine times out of ten they end up getting sucked into the couch for longer. It was Sora’s turn on the remote and the girls were watching some drama show about a war between man and monsters. Hime, Sora, and Suguri all had varied levels of entertainment out of it.

“I’m going to get a drink. Does anyone need anything?” Hime asked the others as she stretched out her arms.

“I’m okay.” Suguri responded as she turned her head to look over at Hime.

“Nuh-uh” Sora muttered while keeping her gaze at the TV.

Hime rose from her seat and stretched the rest of her body out to help wake it up from being absorbed into the couch for so long. Hime daintly stepped across the floor and entered the kitchen. She fetched a glass then retrieved the pitcher of water from the fridge. After pouring herself a glass and drinking the water, Hime made her way back to the watch party.

The show was now in the high point of the episode as a fight scene was now happening. There was a guy in a colorful suit performing a series of blows against one of the monsters. He rushed in and performed a flashy divekick to finish off the creature and end the fight.

As Hime went to reclaim her seat on the couch she froze in her tracks. Suguri caught wind of this and looked over at the motionless girl. Hime had a perplexed look on her face as her eyes were ever so slightly going left to right as if she was reading something.

“Everything okay Hime?”

“I’m picking up a signal from Shifu’s ship.” Hime said in a serious tone.

“Oh no, is it dangerous?” Suguri questioned as she pushed her torso out from the sofa.

Being assigned as the ship’s Guardian for an odd millennium has wired her brain into being very connected with the ship even to this day. She can pick up faint traces of activity, but couldn't quite figure out the cause after being out of tune with it for so long from the crash. This was a feeling she hadn’t experienced before. She wanted to believe it was nothing major, but honestly after the whole NoName fiasco, she deduced it would be best to treat this seriously.

“It’s difficult to say.” Hime broke her frozen-like state and met eyes with Suguri who had a concerned look on her face.

“I think it’s best if I go check it out.” Hime proclaimed. Suguri rose up from her seat which was enough to break Sora’s trance from the TV.

“I’ll come with you.” Suguri proclaimed. If Hime was going to go anywhere around the ship, then Suguri wanted to make sure that Hime had backup.

Hime nodded in acknowledgment. Suguri then turned her head to look at Sora.

“Can you watch the house Sora?”

“Understood.” Sora straightened her posture and gave a salute to Suguri.

Hime and Suguri looked at each other then both nodded. They headed for the front door and after getting their shoes on, Suguri undid the lock and turned the knob.

“Be safe.” Sora said as she stood up and waved goodbye to Suguri and Hime.

“We will.” Suguri responded.

“We shouldn’t be gone too long.” Hime said while hoping it would be true. Deep down she wanted the alert to be nothing serious, but only time would tell.

Suguri and Hime walked out of the house and shut the door behind them. They took a few steps out past the front porch and then lifted off into the sky. They gained altitude before accelerating quickly in the direction of the ship's wreckage leaving a trial of rainbow colored circles in their wake.

Suguri and Hime were flying through the sky and making their way to the ship. The girls were flying side by side and passing over trees, open fields, and the occasional roads and small towns. The site of the wreckage was thankfully away from any big settlement so the average person would have to travel quite a bit to reach the ship.

This wasn't an issue for the girls and their powerful flight capabilities. Suguri and Hime have been flying side by side for several minutes now in silence. Feeling the wind brush by them as they pierce through the sky.

"I'm a bit surprised you asked Sora to stay behind." Hime broke the silence. Suguri looked over to see Hime kept her head forward but was glancing over at Suguri.

"I didn't want to disturb her and her show." Suguri remarked with a smile. "Sora's been through enough as it is. There's no telling what's going on here and I'd like to keep her out of anything dangerous if possible." Suguri returned her gaze forward.

"We might not know what's going on but the two of us can handle this."

Hime turned her head as that remark caught her off guard. Suguri Isn't wrong; the two of them could handle just about anything that would threaten the safety of Earth. It was something about how Suguri said it was what threw Hime off her balance.

"Oh Suguri, if I didn't know any better I would have thought you did all that so we could have some alone time together." Hime glided closer to Suguri and rubbed her body against Suguri. Hime could feel Suguri's body jolt in reflex, but unlike before where Suguri would instinctively float away in shock to Hime's teasing, Suguri kept herself in place.

"It's not like that. I didn't want you to go off on your own to something like this and potentially get in danger."

Hime broke away from her body contact with Suguri.

"I'm a big girl Suguri. I'm sure I would be fine handling a simple distress signal."

"I know, it's just…" Suguri trailed off as she tried to convey her thoughts properly.

"I'd worry about you if I wasn't with you."

Hime felt her heart skip a beat.

"Aww, that's sweet of you Suguri."

Hime had been hiding it, but deep down she was stressing out a little over this warning about the ship. Suguri's talk was helping her calm down and remind her that she's in good company now.

"We should be approaching the site any minute now. Be on guard." Hime remarked. Suguri acknowledged it as the girls continued their flight.

Suguri touched down with Hime right after her. It had been several months since they last arrived at the site. They periodically come by to inspect things, sometimes they just come to reminisce.

What was left of the hulking mass of metal and technology was covered in dirt, moss, and showed signs of weather damage. The surrounding area was beginning to grow back after the impact site as well. There was a barricade behind them that warned off any trespassers but the gates were no challenge to them.

Suguri and Hime surveyed the area to see if there was anything out of the ordinary. After not seeing anything too out of place around the perimeter, Hime looked towards one of the entrance docks of the ship.

"I think whatever might be sending the signal is inside the ship. It's likely coming from the control room.”

“Do you have any idea what might be causing it?”

Hime shook her head.

“I won’t really know until I get a look at the system unfortunately.”

Hime began to step forward to the entrance dock. Suguri followed a couple steps behind her while doing one last scan around before they entered through the ship.

The crunchy steps of dirt were replaced by now louder footsteps of metal. The amount of sunlight decreased as they made their way deeper into the wreckage. There were spots scattered throughout that had holes in the ceiling which let beams of sunlight make an attempt to disperse the darkness, but those too ran fewer and fewer as the girls trekked deeper..

The place felt cold, haunting, and empty. What used to be the place Hime had to call her home was now an abandoned and lifeless husk. Suguri was trying to make heads or tails of where they were at in the ship. She may have been in the ship once before, but that was only to try to put a stop to the little war that was waged on her planet.

Hime however knew where they were at. They were approaching the main core. The central power generator- or at least what’s likely left of it. It was also the room where she was sealed away. Hime stopped in front of a large shut bunker door and took a long look at it. Suguri stayed right behind Hime as she glanced at the door then back to Hime. Hime closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then placed her left hand on her chest. A soft red glow began to light up under her hand and flow out. Hime then opened her eyes and placed her right hand on the door. After a few moments, some mechanisms began to twist and turn on the other side before eventually letting out a hiss of propulsion. After some creaking, the door began to split apart and make an entrance for the girls. Lights flickered overhead and began to dimly lit up the hallway Suguri and Hime were in. Power was being restored to this wing of the ship.

“Did you do that Hime?”

“Being the Guardian of this ship allows me to have some slight command over little things like that.” Hime turned around to face Suguri who had a surprised look on her face.

“As far as actually moving or controlling the ship however, I don’t have that level of power.” Hime sounded like she was going to continue, but trailed off and stopped.

“That’s impressive Hime.” Suguri looked around now so that she could see more clearly in the hallway. Suguri assumed Hime herself was the one supplying the power, hence her comment earlier.

“Anyway, let’s go Suguri. The signal should be coming from here.” Hime stepped into the open door as Suguri followed. There was a center column with what looked like a command board connected to a giant piller. As Hime approached the center, Suguri looked up at the pillar and saw a familiar piece. It was the same containment pod that Hime was inside when they first met. Suguri recollected how Shifu woke up Hime as part of his last ditch effort to stop Suguri. Hime made some clicking sounds with the keys on the command board as Suguri continued to reflect on her meeting with Hime.

“Hmmm…” Hime mumbled out loud as she played around with more keys.

“What is it?” Suguri then walked up to Hime and looked over her shoulder to try to look at the information being displayed.

“Nothing looks to be too out of the ordinary.” Hime did another click and an error message popped up.

Synchronization failed. Check error logs.

“What does it mean by ‘synchronization failed’ Hime?” Suguri could only try to guess what all this meant due to the context of the spaceship and figured she’d let the Guardian figure it out.

“To be honest, I’m not entirely sure.” Hime clicked and scrolled through the log. After a brief moment of silence in the hum of the electronics whirling Hime let out a small sigh.

“I heard there were rumors that Shifu was trying to make a replacement for me.”

“A replacement? Weren’t you an important role on the ship as its Guardian?”

“I was. Knowing that sad man Shifu, he wasn’t happy with how often I disobeyed him. Hence why I got sealed away. Like I said, there were rumors but I don’t know how far he got with this replacement.” Hime did a bit more clicking and removed the messages that were up on the display. She let out another sigh then faced Suguri.

“Looks like what had happened was Shifu was setting up an AI program to try to oversee the ship at first. To keep it simple, the AI must have still had a small amount of backup power left to keep it running and tried to go about repairing itself. The ship too, but after not having any luck it tried to send out a distress signal.”

“So what did you do about it?” Suguri tilted her head as she looked back at the display screen.

“With the state of the ship, the self repair and security protocols are basically futile so I shut that off. That’s about all I could really do since I don’t know how to handle Shifu’s AI program. That should at least stop the distress signals for now.”

“That’s good. So are we done here?” Suguri took one last look at the command room, not sure if she’ll ever set foot in here again.

“We should be, let’s get home before Sora gets worried.”

Suguri and Hime turned around and headed for the exit.

“Do..n’t  g…o…”

Hime stopped and looked at Suguri.

“Did you say something Suguri?”

Suguri turned around and shook her head.

“Do..n..t..lea…ve ….me”

Hime looked back at the command room and saw a dim glowing orb in the center of the board. Hime felt herself being pulled in by it. Something was calling out to her, asking for help, asking for comfort, asking for companionship.

“Hime?” Suguri asked as she watched Hime slowly make her way over and reach her hand out.

Hime placed her right hand on the orb and it began illuminating a bright blue light. It filled up the room with great intensity.

“Hime? What’s going on?”

Hime didn’t respond as the lights and sounds began increasing in volume. Suguri rushed over and grabbed Hime’s free hand.

“Hime!”

Still nothing. Suguri pulled and pulled and eventually pried Hime away from the orb. The noise and lights stopped accelerating, but they weren’t diminishing either. Hime grumbled and placed her now free right hand over her head.

“...Suguri?” Hime groaned out while coming back to her senses.

“Hime are you alright?!” Suguri placed her hands on Hime’s shoulders and looked into her eyes. They were a bit cloudy but they were regaining focus.

“Y-yeah. Sorry about that.” Hime blinked a couple times then gave Suguri a reassuring smile. After a moment of recollection Hime then looked back over at the rampant control board.

“Suguri, help me shut that down.”

“Are you sure Hime? I don’t know what that thing was doing to you.” Suguri looked over at the messy computer and back at Hime. “I don’t want to lose you.”

“It will be okay Suguri.” Hime took a long look into Suguri’s eyes. Suguri was afraid and uncertain. Hime hated seeing Suguri look like this.

“We’ll do it Suguri. It’s like you said earlier; We can handle this together.” Hime gave Suguri a look of confidence. If there was anyone who could help Hime out with an important task, it was Suguri. If there was any place that Hime felt safest, it was by Suguri's side.

Suguri saw the emotion in Hime’s eyes and her doubts were washed away. Suguri put her right hand into Hime’s left and the two stepped in unison over to the malfunctioning control panel. Suguri and Hime put their free hands over top of each other and pressed into the glowing orb.

Suguri could feel a rush of unknown voices and numbers run through her head. A massive amount of information was flowing into her mind but just as soon as it was beginning to be too much she could feel Hime’s grip on her hands quell the overload. Suguri concentrated with Hime to focus and after a moment there was a flash of light and clarity overcame her mind.

The program calmed down and the room was back to its normal state. Hime and Suguri were breathing loudly as they opened up their eyes and surveyed the situation. Suguri and Hime then looked at each other and confirmed the other was okay. Suguri stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Hime in a hug.

“Oh my Suguri, you beat me to the punch.” Hime returned the hug and placed her arms around Suguri, pulling her in closer.

“I was scared Hime. Scared that thing did something to you.” Suguri was shaking as she buried her face in Hime’s shoulder. Hime felt terrible for making Suguri worry like this. It was the most distraught she’s seen the girl. Hime raised her arm and placed a hand on the back of Suguri and patted her softly.

“It’s okay Suguri, I’m here.”

The girls stayed in their embrace until Suguri calmed down enough to break away from Hime. The problem with the ship was now solved, they made their exit from the control room and outside the ship. As Hime touched her feet back onto the Earth’s surface the lights of the ship turned off again. They stepped several feet away from the entrance dock and gazed back at the ship one final time. Hime then stepped closer to Suguri and slipped her hand into Suguri’s. Suguri peaked over at Hime who had a big smile spread on her face. Hime’s warm and gentle fingers interlocked with Suguri’s in a playful manner as she pressed her palm against Suguri’s.

Suguri tightened her grip in response as she grinned back at Hime. The two immersed themselves in the tender moment before they lifted themselves up in the air and began their return trip home. This time they were going to take it a bit slower on the way back.

It was a new morning on Suguri's humble abode. The girls finished slugging out of bed and doing their morning routine. They were now sitting around the dining table bouncing around ideas for what they could do today. They had the windows open and were enjoying the fresh air being blown in.. The breeze was shaking the limbs of the trees as well as the wind chime that was placed on the back porch making music out of what mother nature was providing.

"What about going fishing?" Sora suggested as she was swinging her feet while on her chair.

Suguri and Hime took a moment to consider the idea until then remembered their previous excursion. Hime held back a grimace and turned towards Sora.

"Sora, with all due respect I don't think we'll go fishing. The last time we went, you dove into the lake after a fish had broken your line."

"It put up a good fight too." Sora gave Hime a thumbs-up and had a smug grin on her face.

Ding-dong

The doorbell rang. The doorbell hardly ever rings at Suguri's house. Not unless one of the girls is expecting company or a package in the mail. Neither of which was the case right now so they all looked at each other puzzled.

"I'll get it." Sora hopped out of her chair and speed walked to the front door.

Hime watched Sora trot into the hallway before she leaned over to Suguri and whispered to her.

"Who do you think is at the door?"

"I don't know. Could be the mailman or maybe someone like Saki."

About a minute passed before Sora came back into the kitchen.

"There's a girl at the door. She says she wants to come inside and see you Hime."

Hime perked up upon hearing she was the one being requested upon meeting. If it was one of the Shifu Brands they would have asked or sent a notification about coming over. Sora also would have recognized them, so who could it be that was looking to see her?

"They want to see me? What's the girl's name?"

"She didn’t say. She said it's important that she sees you."

Hime glanced over at Suguri to try to gauge her opinion on the matter. Suguri shrugged her shoulders at Hime and they both turned back to Sora.

"Let her in. The least we could do is hear her out." Suguri said, looking up at Sora.

Sora nodded and walked back to the front door. Suguri and Hime heard the front door open down the hallway and some faint voices that must have been Sora inviting the girl in. After a few moments the door was shut and the sounds of footsteps were approaching from the hall.

"Hime, this is the girl. She said she's here from you." Sora gestured her arm out to where the girl would be, but it sounds like she was still in the hallway messing with her shoes.

Hime was a tad confused and stood up from her chair.

"Sora, I think you mean she's here 'for me' sweetie."

"No, she's technically kind of right about that." A voice spoke out from the edge of the hallway.

A figure walked into vision to reveal a young looking girl. She had long, straight blonde hair that went down to her waist. Her eyes were a brilliant ruby shade of red. The girl was wearing an unzipped blue jersey jacket over a dark gray shirt. She was also adorning a short dark skirt and black thigh high socks.

"Hello." She said politely while giving a small wave then bowing to the girls in the room.

Hime noticed the girl was wearing a necklace with a red gem on it that reminded her an awful lot of what she contains her chains in. Hime was perplexed by who she was looking at. Hime was so bewildered that she almost forgot to introduce herself.

“I’m Hime.” Hime bowed in response to the girl's introductory bow. “It’s nice to meet you…” Hime trailed off to try to get the girl’s name but she didn’t follow up.

“I’m Suguri. That’s an interesting jacket you have.” Suguri’s tone gave away that she was also a bit confused by the strangers appearance given her hair style, eye color, and sense of current fashion.

“Thank you. It’s nice to be able to see you two.” The girl gave Hime and Suguri both a big grin from ear to ear.

“I introduced myself when I let her in.” Sora said.

“That’s good Sora.” Hime turned back over to the new girl. “So what’s your name?”

The blonde stammered a bit and became a bit embarrassed.

“I don’t have a name. I only remember waking up about a day ago.”

“You don’t know your name?” Hime grew more puzzled and the girl shook her head in response. Suguri took her chance to approach this differently.

“Hmm, well we have to call you something.”

The room fell quiet as the stranger tried remembering any kind of clue that could lead her to her name. The occasional gust of air would stir up the outside and ring a few notes off the chime. Suguri mumbled through her own thoughts but her naming convention wasn’t all that great. Hime took a couple steps towards the girl and looked her up and down. Hime recognized the way the girl’s hair was “managed” as it was rather messy and all over the place in the same way that Suguri’s can get when she speeds through the air. All the loose strands and the folds in her jacket made it look as if she got blasted by a gust of wind.

…Wind

A couple of notes ringed off from the wind chime.

“How about the name Fuuka?” Hime suggested.

The room grew silent as everyone was anticipating the girl's reaction.

"Fuuka..." The girl spoke out. “I…I like that name.”

"Yeah, I like it too" Suguri added.

The atmosphere of the room seemingly became much more joyful as Fuuka now gained an identity.

There were still plenty more questions that Suguri had floating in her mind. She figured she’d start off with a lighter question and would slowly follow up to the bigger questions. There’s no telling who Fuuka is and what's her story, but hopefully things will get  somewhat cleared up as they talk.

"So what made you come here Fuuka?"

Fuuka centered her vision on the silver haired girl while Suguri took note of Fuuka's eye color. While Fuuka's expression was quite different, Suguri felt like she was peering into Hime’s eyes for a brief moment. The warm red invites you in, and how easy it is to get lost in that sea of crimson. There was a lot more innocence in her eyes compared to Hime’s.

“I came here because you two were the first things that showed up in my mind. When I woke up, my only thoughts were to find these people in my head. The only things I had to go off of were the names 'Suguri' and 'Hime', and a very blurry image of what you two looked like. I had no idea where to even start looking until I realized I could very slightly track your frequencies and where you had been.”

Hime tilted her head at the idea they were tracked.

"Our frequencies?"

Fuuka shifted her gaze over to the other blonde.

"Yes. One from the Guardian of the ship, Hime." Fuuka then looked back over at Suguri. "And one from the Guardian of Earth, Suguri. When you two used your powers to stop that crisis at the ship, your powers as Guardians must have had some kind of reaction to the energy in the ship."

“Wait, so were you that AI program? Were you the one who sent that distress signal?” Suguri asked with more mysteries coming back.

Fuuka shook her head. “That wasn’t me. To be honest, I heard another girl’s voice as I was starting to come around. It wasn’t either Suguri’s or Hime’s." Fuuka looked down at her hands and stretched out her fingers and balling them into a fist a couple times as if to show off her motor skills.

"Looking deep inside myself I can see that I was imprinted with the data from both of the Guardians which, combined with that energy that was going off, is what gave me this life. Or at least that's what the little voice from the ship said is likely the cause."

Fuuka had a gleeful smile on her face. Perhaps it was due to fulfilling her desire of meeting with Suguri and Hime. Maybe it was from her being able to talk with them and release this information. Suguri still felt a tad perplexed by this as she gave another scan up and down of Fuuka.

“So Fuuka, what are you exactly?” Hime spoke out.  “Or I guess what I should ask is; what do you see yourself as? I’m curious how you see yourself.”

Fuuka put a finger on her chin and tilted her head upwards to the ceiling.

"Hmm… Well I don’t see myself as an AI or anything like that. I guess I’d call myself a regular person. Or at least, as much as a regular person one could be if they were created from the two big Guardians.”

“I see. So seeing as you were born I presume last night, you seem to already be well adjusted. Did you inherit our memories and things of that sort too?” Hime continued questioning. Fuuka crossed her arms and put on a thinking face.

“No, I don't have any memories it seems. The only things in my mind at the time were to trying to find you two. I can’t really explain it well but it’s as if you imprinted me on a personal level. Like I know how to act and behave like a regular person, I just don’t have any recollection of anything.”

“You know how to function but you have no prior memories, or in this case you didn’t absorb any of our memories.” Suguri clarified. Fuuka simply nodded at Suguri's mark  to say she hit the nail on the head.

Hime clapped her hands together to bring all the attention to her.

“Anyway Fuuka, that’s enough questions from me.” Hime opened up both of her arms. “Come here.”

Fuuka and Suguri both had a confused look on their faces.

“Huh?” Fuuka muttered out while looking at Hime’s face and back down to her gesture.

“Do you want a hug Fuuka? At this point it’s almost customary to get a patented Hime hug if you’re going to be a part of this family, which considering your upbringing, you are to me. If what you say is true about yourself, you're practically my daughter."

Hime's comment made the dots finally start to click with Suguri that Fuuka could be considered her daughter. Her daughter with Hime. Fuuka was a stranger with a lot of questions surrounding her still and this opened up a whole new side of things. for Suguri.

“If you’re as still lost and confused as Suguri and I are, I want you to know that you’ll be safe here with me.” Hime reassured as she opened up arms a little more. Hime could feel some kind of instinct rise up inside her. A desire to protect and look after this girl in front of her.

Fuuka took a step forward, still trying to grasp the situation and feeling a bit awkward from being put on the spot like this. Especially with other people watching. Another step forward, then another at a more rapid pace. Fuuka was now closing the gap in a normal walking pace, she opened her arms and embraced herself into Hime’s invitation.

Fuuka pressed her face into Hime’s shoulder and let herself be enveloped by Hime. The ship guardian wrapped her arms around Fuuka’s back and caressed the girl softly. Fuuka was overtaken by a swarm of emotions, sensations, and feelings as she tried to absorb everything. Hime’s gentle touch along her back, the smell of her body that carried a hint of roses, the pulse of her heartbeat. This was one of the people responsible for giving her life. This was one of her mothers, this was Hime.

“Thank you, mama.” Fuuka pulled Hime tightly into the hug as her voice started to crack a bit.

Hime’s heart jumped from hearing those words.

“Mama…” Hime took one of her hands and rubbed the back of Fuuka’s head. “That’s right mama’s here.”

The two were locked in their hug for almost a whole minute. Time felt like it had slowed and no sounds were made in the home save for the running appliances and quiet howl of the wind outside. Before freeing Fuuka from her grasp, Hime shot a glance over to Suguri who was watching with a contented smile on her face. Suguri gave a small nod as she understood her assignment well before Hime gave her a look.

Fuuka slowly broke free from Hime’s warm body and stared into Hime’s eyes. Hime had so much compassion and friendliness in them. Despite knowing Hime for not even an hour, Fuuka could feel like she could trust Hime with her life.

“Fuuka.” Suguri called out to Fuuka who was about to fall victim to the same thing Suguri had done countless times before; Getting lost in Hime’s beautiful eyes.

Fuuka focused on the source of the sound and saw Suguri who now had her arms out the same way as Hime did. Suguri’s body language wasn’t as confident as Hime’s was, but Suguri was still waiting to let Fuuka dock into her arms for a hug of Suguri’s own. Fuuka took a second to collect her thoughts and realized what Suguri was doing. Fuuka had a much faster start getting to Suguri compared to Hime and made her journey over.

Suguri misjudged Fuuka’s impact velocity and lost her balance for an instant before catching herself, as well as Fuuka in her arms. Fuuka was warm after taking in some of Hime’s body heat during their hug. Suguri could sense a bit of residual Hime from Fuuka, but also feel a bit of Hime from Fuuka’s hug herself.

Suguri’s hug was not as tight as Hime’s, but Fuuka still felt a very strong sense of protection and care in Suguri’s arms. There were the arms bent on making sure they would protect the ones close to them, and Fuuka was unconsciously added to that list of people. Fuuka could see herself falling asleep in these arms. Fuuka felt Suguri stroke the back of her head softly. She took in everything she could about Suguri as well. Her slight uncertainty but confidence, her strong desire to protect. The way Suguri was caressing her head. This was Suguri, the Guardian of Earth, and the other person she would call her mother. Fuuka would need to find a way to differentiate the two.

“Thank you mom.”

Suguri was going to need some time to get used to being called any semblance of “mom.” However she did find it sweet to hear it from Fuuka. It was still very much to take in at once, but strangely enough it wasn’t too difficult to accept. She’s got more than enough life experience, what’s adding another member into her little family and calling her daughter.

Suguri released Fuuka from the hug and gave her one final headpat. Fuuka looked up at Suguri and gave her a big cheeky grin. Suguri wondered if she would manage to be a good parent to Fuuka, and what kind of girl Fuuka might grow up to be. Suguri does know that she’s not alone and will do her best for Fuuka's sake.

"I want to hug Fuuka too."

Sora stepped forward and opened her arms up wide. Fuuka smiled and walked over to Sora's presenting body.

Sora gave the tightest hug of the girls to the point it was a little hard to breathe for Fuuka. She could feel an extreme amount of strength coming from Sora and got a warning in her mind to never cross this girl. Despite that, there was still a feeling of kindness to Sora and how she did things.

"So what would Sora be in relation to Fuuka?" Suguri thought out loud.

"Well, I call Sora 'sis' so I guess for Fuuka’s case, Sora would be her aunt. If Sora is okay with that." Hime mentioned to Sora. Sora had a delighted display on her face as she continued to hold Fuuka in her arms.

"I'm okay with that." Sora let go of Fuuka who studied the room to get another good look at her newfound family.

"So what do you think Fuuka, do you think you'll like it here?" Hime waved her arm out to showcase Suguri's residence. Fuuka took a gander at the house at all the furniture laid out, the various paintings of animals and mountain ranges hanging on the walls, the potted plants scattered around on the tables and shelves.

"We'll give you the full tour here shortly." Suguri mentioned as Fuuka has only seen the living and dining rooms so far. There was much of the house that has gone undiscovered for her.

Fuuka thought it was a nice and very cozy house. It was out of the way of a lot of things and surrounded by nature. The location was quiet, but between the residents and activities the house was probably anything but Fuuka imagined. This wasn't just some house to Fuuka anymore, this was a place that she could call home. It was a home filled with people who graciously accepted her in despite knowing her for an extremely short time and with an outlandish premise that Fuuka was created from Suguri and Hime. They welcomed her into the family with literally open arms, and it was more then what Fuuka could even ask for. Her life only just recently started, but she's thankful that she can now spend this life with these people she can call her family.

Notes:

This was a story I created after at one point thinking to myself what would Suguri and Hime's hypothetical child would be like. I then came upon a friend's OC/fusion design they made for Suguri+Hime and talked it over about making a story about how she'd be conceived. They were accepting of the idea and we talked over the general outline I had for this story and what we would name the new girl and so Fuuka was born.

I was going to add another scene or two at the end to try to being more to Fuuka's character but ultimately decided to split this up into two separate stories and save Fuuka's more heavier character building for the next chapter. It was nice to try to write a more original character again and I'm looking forward to shaping Fuuka into a real character, one who's got some big role models as parents.
