   Summary

   AU-In which Maverick wakes up after a mission in hospital, pregnant with a bite mark and no memory. With some (not so helpful) help from a visiting Admiral, he builds a life for himself and his baby boy but it all comes out in the wash when years later Jake tells him one morning after breakfast that Admiral Kazansky—a tragic figure in the Navy on account of losing his mate and unborn pup—is going to teach him a new mission layout.
