   ‘You’re a coward!’

   It wasn’t the goodbye Ed had been hoping for.

   ‘I can be a fisherman,’ he muttered to himself, dropping down to the sand. ‘Be a fucking great fisherman. Be great at anything I fucking want to.’

   Ed watched the sun as it hovered above the horizon, slowly dipping down to bring an end to his last day on the Revenge. On his last day with Stede.

   It was a lie.

   Or: my take on what the chain of events following Ed leaving Stede to become a fisherman and the attack on the Republic of Pirates post episode 7 were going to be (before episode 8 landed), actually featuring Ed and Stede talking about their feelings.
