Work Text:
“Maybe you should just get your nose out of my business,” Xiao Wen pointed at Jiang Shuo, with one of her perfect nails. “You’ll ruin my cover.”
“I would never,” Jiang Shuo raised his hands. “But you have to see the position I am in.”
“Your position is that you cannot stay out of nonsensical situations, and keep buying properties where crimes have been committed,” Xiao Wen narrowed her eyes. “Leave. You cannot come in here anyways.”
“Why not? This is an expensive club. Don’t you think I look expensive?”
The club they were standing in front of was owned by the previous owner of the property Jiang Shuo wanted to buy (against Qin Yiheng’s warnings - as always. But hey, it always worked out, didn’t it), so he had to get in there.
“It’s not a club for you.”
“It could be!”
“You could get in, but you couldn’t get in the back where the man we are looking for is. So. Only I go.”
“Ah. I see how it is,” Jiang Shuo crossed his arm in front of his chest. “Your cover is that you also want to buy the property. So you want to get the business from me. It’s not! Going! To! Work!”
Xiao Wen looked exhausted by Jiang Shuo.
Which granted, for her, probably meant an affectionate look.
“When he rents it, he doesn’t want male guests. And the staff are paid enough to follow these orders.”
Jiang Shuo blinked once.
Twice.
Then grinned.
“Well. Money is money, isn’t it?”
“...what?”
“Don’t gape like that, Xiao Wen,” Jiang Shuo winked at her, walking past her. “This business is mine, you know.”
“...seriously, where did this come from?”
“This, Xiao Wen, is what I believe the kids call serving cunt. ”
He really was doing so. He wasn’t bold enough to wear high heels, but he was wearing knee-high boots, with a leather skirt. He just got one of his own colourful shirts, but undoing some of the buttons, tying them together, giving the appearance of a stylish, midriff-baring top.
Xiao Wen sighed, looking at him, from head to toe.
“This can work,” She seemed like begrudgingly accepting it. “You need a wig and some makeup too.”
“Are you willing to help me?” Jiang Shuo grinned, leaning forward to her.
“Oh? Now you need my help?”
“I’m not that arrogant to avoid admitting when I’m out of my depth.”
Turns out, Xiao Wen had a collection of wigs - she gave Jiang Shuo a similar one to what she wore when they met, a stylish short cut, albeit the shade was similar to Jiang Shuo’s own hair.
And then helped apply makeup on him as well.
Oh yeah. He absolutely was serving.
Of course, being in his business, trying to get something done, meant he would often end up in trouble.
But by the time he was running through the back rooms of the night club, the deal was sealed, and it wasn’t his fault other potential buyers were not happy about it.
Xiao Wen left earlier on, clearly whatever she was there for was not actually the same guy Jiang Shuo was targeting.
What a sneaky woman.
Regardless, he was running, until he left through a back door, running through the corridors, and then collided with a body.
He lost his balance, but two arms caught him.
“I’m sor—”
The familiar voice suddenly stopped in the middle of the word, as if those words got stuck in his throat.
Jiang Shuo looked up, and–
Oh, well.
It was Qin Yiheng who was standing there, holding Jiang Shuo up by his arms, his normally more stoic demeanour seemed to tremble - his eyes widening, trying to take in the sight in front of him.
Qin Yiheng being silent was not unusual.
Him clearly being unable to speak was a different thing entirely.
Jiang Shuo glanced to the side, hearing the yelling from around the corner.
“Oh. Well, that’s the problem.”
“...what have you gotten yourself into again?”
“Long story, now—”
Jiang Shuo grabbed the collar of Qin Yiheng’s jacket, pulling him into one of the doorways.
The plan was just to disappear behind his taller frame, so he wouldn’t be seen, but Qin Yiheng clearly had other ideas.
Seeing, as he pressed Jiang Shuo up against the glass door of the apartment’s doorway, pressing their lips together.
It was not their first kiss, not even their second, but it was a surprisingly forceful kiss from Qin Yiheng - as his hand ran down to Jiang Shuo’s leg, pulling his knee up by his waist.
Oh.
Ohhhhh.
How interesting.
When the kiss ended, Jiang Shuo was aware that his wig got a little lopsided, but he grinned, despite it being hard to catch his breath.
“That’s surprising from you~”
Qin Yiheng exhaled a little, an annoyed little huff, as he was obviously trying to calm down his own breathing.
“It’s your fault.”
“Guilty as charged,” Jiang Shuo grinned, his arms locking around Qin Yiheng’s neck. “But guess what. I made the deal. So worth it.”
“The deal,” Qin Yiheng repeated it, frowning a little. “The deal. You made a deal for that house.”
“Of course. That’s what it was all about.”
“Bad idea,” Qin Yiheng said sharply. “I went to check it out. Shouldn’t have bought it.”
“Well I can’t go back now to back down, can I?” Jiang Shuo complained, pouting. “It’ll be fine. I got you, don’t I?”
“One day, I won’t be able to drag you out of trouble.”
“No such thing,” Jiang Shuo breathed, leaning closer, touching their noses together. “My hero~”
Qin Yiheng seemed very unimpressed, before finally letting Jiang Shuo go, and yanking the messed up wig off from his head.
“You are better with short hair anyway.”
“Careful with that! That’s not mine.”
“Oh?” Qin Yiheng raised an eyebrow. “The rest of the outfit is?”
“Maybe~” Jiang Shuo said in a sing-song voice, locking their arms together. “Maybe you should accompany me on my way home. The streets are dangerous for someone like me so late in the night~”
“That’s because you are a brat with no self-preservation skills,” Qin Yiheng muttered.
But he didn’t pull his arm out of Jiang Shuo’s hold.
Victory.
