The energy in the air instantly dissipated. Instead of the quick anger Percy had been expecting, Thalia’s expression morphed into one of confusion. She was clearly taken aback by the challenge. The pressure cooker that was the gymnasium had once more turned into a thick mist. One moment turned to two. The blood raced in Percy’s ears. Maybe he had gone too far and she really would kill him.
