Chapter Text
Lizzie had never seen anything like herself in Lydia. It was like they were both miles away even though they shared DNA and obviously parents. That was until she started noticing little things she also did. Things she also only did because of a probably undiagnosed eating disorder. She hadn’t wanted anyone to find out and with Lydia she never knew if the girl was picking on her in a “I know your secret your not slick” kind of way or if Lydia was actually in trouble. Sure outing Lydia seemed like it would help but that also met outing herself and she felt like her mom would faint if both of her daughters had “issues”
She had been having a bad day. Tripped and fell going up the stairs at school, spilt her lunch on the floor, got a low grade on something she thought she was going to do well on. Everything was stacking up. So when she got home and her mother handed her homemade cookies she ended up eating four, FOUR! Her heart was raising by the time she realized and she got out a quick excuse of
“Sorry mom have to go study, big test coming up.”
Before running upstairs and to the bathroom . It was like clock work sometimes but other times she thought she was free from something and it rammed its head harder into it. She hadn’t made herself throw up in almost two weeks. Sure she wasn’t eating in those two weeks but that didn’t fully matter. Now here she sat after making herself sick, tears running down her face as she went to try again. Not hearing the door open and a gasp.
“Lizzie are you, are you okay?”
Fucking Lydia. Didn’t anyone knock here!
“I’m fine Lydia, just ate something bad. Not sure what exactly did it.”
“Are you sure? Cause it uh it looked like you were making yourself sick not that you /were/ sick.”
Lizzie was going to punch her sister.
“Lydia listen to me I am fine and you saw nothing, whatever you thought you saw is false now drop it and get out.”
“Lizz-“
“Lydia. Go.”
Lydia finally closed the door and started walking away when Lizzie broke down starting to cry. What was her sister going to do? Who was she going to tell? Lizzie knew this stuff killed, how bad it was. She had done research a plenty on the subject but she didn’t care. She needed this.
What she wasn’t expecting is Lydia to hear her cries and run back into the bathroom.
“You can be mad all you want at me for being here but I’m not letting my sister cry in the bathroom over something she’s struggling with.”
Lydia threw her arms around the older girl and Lizzie melted into her embrace. They hadn’t done this in awhile.
“And as much as I would like to tell mom and dad so they can help my lips are sealed I swear. “
“Lydia I- I uh know you’re also struggling. I’ve seen you do things I’ve done a million times. You need to stop you can’t let this consume you.”
“Neither can you Lizzie. We could make a pact? Whenever one of us feels like doing something bad we’ll message the other? Maybe?”
Lydia knew her big sister and her weren’t as close as they once were. Lizzie thought Lydia’s partying was bad and that she should grow up and Lydia didn’t see the fun in being an adult all the time when she could let herself go every once in awhile. They were about as different as they could be considered the same.
