Summary
“Hanbin, wake up.” Juyeon’s shaking him now, trying to get him conscious enough to stand. When he does, he notices that it’s still dark out, but a red glow shines through the window. It’s then, that Hanbin feels sweat dripping down his spine and his eyes go wide in realization. Fire.
“Hyung, what’s going on?” Panic has set into his bones and fear makes the young boy tremble. Juyeon kneels to his height, his tone is steady but there is no hiding the terror in his eyes.
“There are very bad people outside right now. We need to get out of the house and run as fast as we can to the creek. Do you understand me?”
Hanbin shakes his head over and over. No, he does not understand.
“What bad people, Hyung? Are they going to hurt us?” Hanbin’s voice is too loud and his brother brings a finger to his lips in warning.
“Ekarians.” The word alone sends a chill down his spine. Suddenly, it all clicks, the real reason why Juyeon is home. Phiamore has lost the war, and Ekarian troops are here to claim their winnings.or
