Work Text:

Sakura doesn’t remember what happened but when she woke up from her fight with Sasuke, she was in a hospital, but that was not Tsunade-shisou’s, and this was not Konoha. She glanced around in fear and made eye contact with a blonde, angry looking kid. He looked about her age, and she felt very, very weirded out.

“Jesus fucking christ, Sakura, I was beginning to worry about ya,” the boy growled, “That old hag went home to take a shower, but dad’s in the bathroom.”

Sakura’s eyes widened. Who is this boy? Who is he to me?

“Sakura I need you to knock that blank look out of your eyes, you’re an idiot sister, you know that?”

Oh. Was this a dream? But she didn’t know this guy? She always wanted a brother…

“Fuck… DOC get in here, my sister has amnesia or some shit. I shouldn’t have let Deku take care of your ass. He’s unreliable--”

The doctor rushed in, looking at her with surprise, “We weren’t sure when you were going to wake up, Bakugou-san.”

“Call her Sakura, it’ll get too confusing with that shit,” Bakugou rolled his eyes, “I’m Katsuki.” Katsuki then, her brother.

It’s funny. She’d always been a sort of angry person, letting out her anger, and it looked like her brother in whatever dreamland she was in. She felt her heart reach out to this boy who was her brother. He felt like her other half.

“It’s crazy my own twin sister doesn’t remember me,” he grumbled, texting on his phone, “The old hag and dad-”

She smiled but turned to the Doctor, who was staring at her with a hint of amusement in his eyes, “Listen, we need to do an evaluation, see if we can figure out why your memories are lacking… maybe there’s a reason…”

She tilted her head. Maybe he’s right. Maybe there is some sort of memory blockade. Maybe there is somewhere-

“Dude, you’re a fucking idiot,” she laughed, pushing Katsuki over, “Leave the poor kid alone!”

“Like you’re one to talk,” he growled, “You don’t even like him!”

“That’s not true-!”

-

“Katsuki… I am going to murder you!”

“I can’t believe you got superstrength as your quirk!” he ran away from her, keeping just out of touch as she slammed the ground, sending dirt flying.

“Woah! Be careful kids!” their father laughed from the bench, their mother rolling her eyes.

-

“Midoriya-san, don’t let him bother you,” Sakura smiled, “Kat’s an idiot.”

“Kaachan can be quite mean, but I know deep down he’s a nice guy.”

Sakura threw her head back and cackled, “It’s a family trait.”

-

“Oh,” she turned to look at her brother- her twin. Tears welled up in her eyes, as she reached out for him, “How long has your dumbass been waiting in here? What happened?”

Relief filled his eyes as he hugged his sister, “Fuckin’ scared me. You and Deku were on a mission when Toga attacked. We don’t know how she snuck into the establishment, but because we’re second years we’re allowed to go out more. You’ve been out for a month. Unfortunately, I had to go to classes, but Aizawa said as soon as you’re awake you can return. No need to hold ya back or anything.”

She smacked his head, “Why are you talking like a delinquent? Are you an idiot?”

“Oh shut up! I don’t even know why I pretended I cared,” he growled, but didn’t move from her side until their parents came barging in.

The doctors had long since left, but she too was curious. How did these memories come back? Has she always been here? What about… Naruto? Sasuke? Kakashi? Ino ?

“Jesus, could ya focus for five seconds, nee-chan?”

She snorted, feeling the urge to ruffle his head, “Now, tell me what actually happened.”

“I did!” he grumbled, “That damn nerd came back, tears and shit, and you were bloodied up. I almost killed him then and there if I’m bein’ honest. Been looking for an excuse…”

She snorted, he reminds me of Sasuke.

-

It took getting used to, but the more she spent with them, the more memories came back. Her bullying this poor kid named Izuku with her brother, both of their quirks awakening, hers was super strength, much like it was in her home universe (which, she couldn’t even begin to understand how she got here, but it was as if she was always here, these people knew her). She sat at the table with her family in the morning, drinking coffee, talking with them about what she didn’t remember, and then filling in for her till the look of recognition returned. They were loud, but so loving. Her mother always commented on how Sakura’s hair was pink- it was as if she was just supposed to always be there.

She was happy.

She wasn’t seen as weak or useless, she was just… Bakugou Sakura.

-

“And everyone welcome back, Bakugou Sakura,” her professor yawned, looking her over like he could tell something was wrong, “I’ll give 15 minutes to catch up while I go get coffee from the teacher’s lounge. Behave.”

She smiled at the group of people in front of her. Her brother, Katsuki, was sitting towards the back, next to another boy with red hair, and another boy with electric-neon hair with a black streak. Kirishima Eijiro and Kaminari Denki if she remembered from her memories. She smiled as her professor left the room and this girl with pink hair ran up to her and tackled her in a hug.

“Oh Sakura-chan we were so worried about you!” she cried, her pink skin growing darker with a sort of blush, “Bakugou- Katsuki wouldn’t let us see you!”

“I told ya that was the doctors,” he grumbled, but didn’t move from his seat, smiling at her with raised eyebrows.

She flipped him off and gave the girl a hug. Ashido Mina. They were friends. When Katsuki’s friends came over, Mina always came to hang out with her. They were best friends. She hugged her tightly, letting her nails dig into her shoulder.

“Looks like you missed me too, girlfriend!” she yelled, pulling back and surprisingly, yes she did. She missed her the way she missed Katsuki. She missed her other half. This was where she belonged.

But sometimes, she remembered Ino. She blinked, one day you’ll be a beautiful flower. And then blinked again and was back with these people.

Her family? Her friends? Was she ever happy with her old universe?

“We’re glad you’re okay,” Denki was at her side and pulled her into a hug,

Katsuki basically sent a explosion into his face, pushing him back from his sister, “Keep your fucking distance, dunce face.”

Sakura snorted, “Please relax, Kats,” she hummed and turned to Ochako. Realizing she was looking at her, tackled her in a hug.

“We were so worried. We know you have a really high healing factor, but you didn’t heal quickly from this. We think it’s because of Toga taking your blood.”

“That’s going to be a problem,” she laughed, “But, I guess that’s a problem for another time.”

They continued to talk until Aizawa came back in, and he told them to sit down.

Sakura could get used to this.
