Summary
In the mid-1920s the prohibition is in full swing and New Orleans is filled with speakeasies and bootleg liquor trade. People wanting to hide from the law make prime pickings for the city’s serial killer – only, it seems Rosie isn’t the only serial killer on the streets.
After a nerve-wracking encounter with a masked man while on a hunt, Rosie must decide how to proceed, if she should do anything about it at all. She’s busy trying to manage new disasters in her home life anyway; when Franklin’s life-long friend, Vox, brings around a new paramour who doesn’t meet Franklin’s standards, he takes his frustration out on his wife. Suddenly Rosie must navigate a budding friendship in both her day and night life and the minefield her marriage has become. The streets of New Orleans are as dangerous as ever – but is her own home any better?
