Chapter 1: Where am I?

Chapter Text

After what felt like decades being trapped inside the circus, everyone had finally managed to escape, and return to their normal lives.

Pomni strangely woke up in a hospital bed, confused and dazed, looking down at her hands to see five fingers on each one. She was startled by the sound of a nurse walking into the room, who made a slight noise of shock, before walking out of the room.

Pomni was left EVEN MORE confused at this, and was even more confused as another person walked into the room. A doctor.

“Christine, do you know where you are right now?” The man asked calmly, pulling a chair over and sitting down next to the bed.

“Uh-“ She stammered, struggling to find the words to even form a sentence. Was that her name? Christine? It all came flooding back.

“It’s alright, I can understand that you’re confused. You’ve been in a coma for a few months for an unknown reason.” ‘Christine’ looked down at her legs whilst the doctor explained what was happening, still in complete shock.

The peace was soon broken by Christines mother bursting into the room, rushing over and embracing her tightly.

“Um—“ The confused woman let out a quick sound of surprise, before letting her own arms return the hug.

“Oh my darling I thought you would never wake up again!” Her mother cried from inbetween Christine’s neck, before pulling away and putting her hands on her daughters shoulders, tears welling up in her eyes.

The doctors made sure Christine was okay to be discharged from the hospital after around 48 hours.

She could finally go home.

Her mother drove her to her apartment, of which the rent was still being paid because of her mothers hopefulness that she was going to wake up, and all of her belongings were still there, in the same place as she left them.

Christine entered the apartment, nostalgia flooding her brain. The living room was the exact same. The small couch, the TV.

Well, her apartment was quite empty. She never bothered to decorate since it wasn’t her biggest
problem.

She walked through the rooms, looking over everything, full of emotions that she couldn’t even handle.
